so ... i'll put my opinion out here ..

I believe Kirk does give this team the best opportunity to win games.

However, I would have liked to have seen Robert given more of an opportunity during the preseason, with Trent Williams playing. If given that opportunity on Sat vs the Ravens & he had stunk up the joint like he did the week before vs the Lions then he most definitely would have performed himself out of the starting position.

But the circumstances of him being the starter all week leading up to the Ravens game, then being replaced Fri night by Cousins due the concussion ... and now the remainder of the season ... just gives me the wrong impression of using the injury rather then performance as the deciding factor.

i agree ... he played like shit.

But the o-line, & not having Trent in the game, didnt do him any favors either.

I've got no problem with the decision of starting Cousins.

Pretty obvious to anyone watching that he (and Colt for that matter) is more effective working within Jays offense and is light years ahead in terms of pocket presence and awareness.

There is only so much time any franchise can give one player who also has issues staying healthy and protecting himself.

The thing that bothers me is the way this was handled since the end of last year. We didn't do it right. No matter the explanations offered.

Hated the naming of a starter then, regardless of semantics 'Griffins job to keep' and never understood why they picked up the option if all this 'competition' was going on behind the scenes.

I've said it before, i love competition at every level, but then display that at every level. Hurt credibility of that statement by naming a starter back then.

Water under the bridge and there is always the politics behind the scenes with this team.

Gruden is very much being evaluated this year. And he should be.

Yep - RG3 can learn a lot from this approach. Cousins just has to avoid the killer mistakes. Other QBs have corrected their game in this manner in the past - let's hope that this is true for him.
