I live in hop-central. This area is the perfect soil and micro climate for growing hops. The 120 acres immediately to my north was in forst and second year hops this past season. They are putting in another 35 acres immediately south of me. The guy running the farm wanted to use 20 acres of my land to connect the two, but it wouldn't make it worth it to me. They want at least a 10, they prefer a 15 year lease, and are only paying around $500 per acre. You have to admit, there's a lot of infrastructure and labor that goes into the trellis .
