and

these two statements do not jive. anyone else see a discrepancy here?

also in last night's game thread, a few people (including me, i will admit) had some complaints about the refs, and your interpretation was that we thought there was some "conspiracy" against the wings. that's a big logical leap, in my opinion.

not sure if you have some kind of latent hard on for the wings or what, but contadicting yourself is not doing you any favors or winning you any fans.

Fair enough, the second quote you quoted was a little antagonistic, I apologize for that.

The "conspiracy" quote was in reference to other GDT's or posts people have made on this board in the past. BlueandWhite especially, but many others have outright said that Bettman / the NHL / refs favor non traditional markets. In numberous GDT's, posters here have made comments like "well Bettman seems to be getting what he wants." When a bad call went the Coyotes way vs Vancouver people were outright linking it to the NHL owning the Coyotes. There is no other way to interpret that other than some posters are implying that there is some sort of conspiracy.

And then yesterday, when a few legitimate calls were called against the Wings everyone starts talking about how the Wings get no room for error, implying they are at a competitive disadvantage (BS!!).

Everyone picks on the little guys on this board so somebody has to step in to defend them.

By the way, I'm anticipating a sellout for game 3 at Jobing.com arena and that will be due in a large part to the strong contingent of Red Wings fans who now call the Phoenix area home.

from puckdaddy

The oddest, saddest, most pathetic Phoenix-related story of the day -- columnist Dan Bickley's plea to Red Wings fans in Glendale: "If you must go to the games in Arizona, please wear white. We don't want outsiders thinking we can't sell out playoff games. After all we've been through - from bankruptcy hearings to relocation threats - the last thing we need is more national embarrassment. A sea of red at Jobing.com Arena would do just that."

so ... you fail to see any type of perception of conflict that exists because the coyotes are owned by the league yet you all but questioned the integrity of the league when it came to the Hawks Wings final game of the regular season and whether calls were made/missed in order to get the Hawks into the playoffs

Is Phoenix a good market? No. Did Phoenix outdraw Chicago 5 out of the last 10 yeras? yes. Did Phoenix outdraw Pittsburgh 4 out of the last 10 years? yes. I don't want to get into another huge debate on this, but Detroit has a home playoff game tonight and they are not even close to selling it out. That fact stands on its own.
Huh?

Also, who keeps mentioning my name in this thread? :)

no worries. just your posts yesterday and today seemed a bit biased against the wings. i don't have a problem with that. i'm biased against about 28 other teams, openly. best thing about this board is that i get to choose when and if i am going to be biased. if you wanna be biased or antagonistic it's all good. just admit it when you do and don't backtrack or try to call it something else. that's all.
