OH what do we have here... a hindsight hero!!

And Dash, I saw that right after the game, it was only a matter of time before somebody had to call me out.

And Sherbert, part of the point of this thread was to show how willing people on this board are to make excuses for Northern or "hockey" markets.

Call me crazy, but I think the main point of the thread was to stir the pot and agitate people and you succeeded to a certain degree, so kudos I guess. Barring a minor miracle, Phoenix will be closing up shop once their season is over so nobody will have to make excuses for them any longer.

By the way, I'm anticipating a sellout for game 3 at Jobing.com arena and that will be due in a large part to the strong contingent of Red Wings fans who now call the Phoenix area home.

Got my special glasses on this morning, IPW...They don't seem to help all that much when it comes to me betting on games, though.

We usually go to the playoffs every year, but can't afford it this year. There's just one reason there are 3-4 empty seats. You'd be a damn fool if you didn't think that happened to over a thousand people that are Red Wing fans. It has happened to about 3-4 people on SportsHoopla alone. There's 10 - 16 more seats right there.

I take this very personally. There aren't many Wings fans where I live, but they are far too passionate to be put down for not being at the games.

Besides, It's not called Hockeytown because are fans are greater than anyone elses (all hockey fans are awesome in my book). It's called Hockeytown because the Wings are motherfucking winners...:caked:

right. how many years of hindsight to we need to show that Glendale is an absolute and utter failure of a market. You seem to want to force this into a North / South debate. No one is asking for Carolina to be moved.

the point of the thread looks like "oh lookie here, detroit isn't even selling out games, an excuse to whine about phoenix again", of which
a) the first part was was proven wrong
b) doesn't much matter because they are still selling about 50% more tickets than the Coyotes
c) doesn't much matter because they are an economic benefit to the league
d) doesn't much matter because they have a stable owner who WANTS to keep the team in the area, even if they don't sell out.

Coyotes DON'T have a stable owner (or any owner for that matter).
CAN'T FIND an owner who wants to keep them in Glendale.
no matter where they are, that's game over.

FUCK YEAH!!!!!!

this post got me FUCKIN PUMPED!!!!!!

you know, i used to feel bad for the hockey fans in arizona but this thread just pisses me off. a yotes fan didn't even start this shithole tired fuckin argument. this argument is more fuckin tired than a bourbon street whore at midnight on fat tuesday. so fuck it. fuck the yotes. thanks to this thread i no longer feel any fuckin sympathy. the only reason to feel bad now if the yotes move is that wings fans in arizone are gonna have to fly somewhere to see their team play.

I certainly did not make this thread to stir the pot and agitate people- I am not that kind of person. I made it to make a point- but to Detroits credit they came through and sold the game out and thus proved me wrong.

Yeah, yeah... but but but... We don't want the NHL to become a financially sustainable NICHE market. Let's put a team in Kingston, Jamaica. We must EXPAND the game.

I think it is kind of funny that a point was made about the thread being created to show how other people on the board protect a northern team when it very well may have just been Red Wing fans arguing with him. This is called hindsight. Way to go hindsight hero!!!!!
Edit: It was in the same post that you called someone else a hindsight hero :L

and

Hockeytown my ass, they have not sold out multiple playoff games in the last few years now. Despite legions of bandwagoners, the Detroit is simply not that good of a market. And you know if Phoenix comes even 1 seat short of a sellout everybody on this board will be screaming bloody murder.

these two statements do not jive. anyone else see a discrepancy here?

also in last night's game thread, a few people (including me, i will admit) had some complaints about the refs, and your interpretation was that we thought there was some "conspiracy" against the wings. that's a big logical leap, in my opinion.

not sure if you have some kind of latent hard on for the wings or what, but contadicting yourself is not doing you any favors or winning you any fans.

I guess the consensus from the board is that the Redwings should be moved to Memphis. Start growing the sideburns now boys.

Suspicious Games going on with the officiating!
Datsyuk was born In The Ghetto.
