Some of the greatest QBs in NFL history...... in the 4th quarter....with passer ratings

Passer rating, is a combination of stats, made into a formula, to create a number
pass attempts / pass completions......touchdown passes / interceptions.......total yardage

in the 4th quarter for a career ...passer ratings

Joe Montana.....79.9
Troy Aikman..........79.9
Brett Favre........80.4
Dan Marino...........85.4
Phillip Rivers.....88.4
Drew Brees...........89.4
Peyton Manning........90.5
Tom Brady.............94.5
Russell Wilson.....100.3
Aaron Rogers.........101.5

and then, there is this one guy, who has a ......102.7 passer rating in the 4th quarter
And right now, he's the backup QB, for the DALLAS COWBOYS
And I'm not talking about Mark Sanchez

and oh, by the way......the starting QB for the COWBOYS
Dak Prescott, in 13 games, has a 102.9 passer rating in the 4th quarter

Pretty sure if the cowboys win the SB their fans will be way more annoying than pats or seahawk fans.

You can't look at passer rating statically. The 17-rated passer in the league today would have the highest passer rating in the NFL in 1979 when Montana came into the league. Kody Kessler's rating is higher than anyone's that year.

You have to look at passer rating (and any stats for that matter) against the average if you want even a decent comparison between eras.

NO....just the opposite.......outside of injury......Dak is the COWBOY'S QB for the rest of the season

I believe Favre, Brees, Manning, Brady, Rivers, Wilson, Rogers and Romo are from this era.
So delete Montana, Aikman, and Marino, if it makes you happy.
But it's still about the 4th quarter......

not so much if you're down 14 and your defense gives up another 7.
this stat doesn't tell the whole story

I totally agree.......and it kinda makes my point about comparing Romo, Staubach, and Aikman.
It is a total team effort.....great defenses like the 70's Doomsday and the 90's defenses mattered.
All statistics are intertwined with a lot of variables......coaching, systems, personnel, timing, and luck

Carr is turning into a great 4th quarter QB. He has like 10 or 11 come from behind wins in his short career.

First of all, I want to mention that passing yards is either an overrated statistic or a superfluous statistic. Yards are a metric, in which reveal the distance of the passes from the QB--then you must take the YAC statistic into account. Moreover, there's a cumulative of more yards from one QB, as oppose to the opposite QB, in a particular game, because of "garbage yards" collected in the "4th quarter." For the most part, yards are a garbage statistic.

Here are the important "attributes" of a QB performance, in a game. "Attribute" is the operative word, because one of the primary "attributes", in which I believe a QB must have in a game--to display a good performance-- is arbitration--an intangible. For example, calling an audible for a run behind the right guard, for a 3-yard gain, is better than throwing an incomplete pass, or a worse throwing fate. Next, the other "attributes"--of importance--appear as follows: attempts--and a certain amount a QB throws in a game, completions, TD's and INT's.

There are secondary "attributes" I consider...but I don't have time to type about them.

No statistic is more important--from a QB--than winning; the ultimate statistic from a QB.

4th Quarter passer rating is basically pitch and catch these days till you hit the goal line. The goal of the defense is to run you out of timeouts not to keep you from getting yards.

4th Quarter Passer rating is mostly meaningless.
