he seems to under stand culture is the foundation to winning and wants to build a culture of winning from the top down.

They get an "A" from me. Seems like they (with Sean Payton) actually have a vision and it's being surgically executed. No small feat given the absolute lack of draft capital and the broken nature of the team they inherited. Building a team from the inside out feels much different than years past where everything was focused on splash skill players.

He's got to manage draft expectations
Balance the cap with short and long term in mind
Draft well enough to replace aging vets, with minimal picks the next year or two.
Decide how to proceed with the pain if Wilson is a failed signing, or any of the guys from Gregory on.

Payton likely has a good amount of grace to get this team winning again.

I think we need 2-4 extra picks in this draft. Yeah Paton needs to have his best late day 2 draft ever. IOL T TE RB CB Edge WR IDL 8 adds 5 picks.

I think ownership caved and made a huge mistake hiring Vance .. The Cards were 31st in the NFL in total defense in 2022, and Vance was not hired for his resume .. I do not think Vance is a Sean Payton hire

When the consensus is to refer to this defense as "historically bad" - especially when the 2022 Bronco D was very good - Vance was not the best man for the job ..

blow it up or continue to have your $20M coach that can’t remember what down it is, players taking on blockers instead of tackling Mahomes short of the sticks, a QB that can’t see over the line, WRs who can’t get separation. trading away a move TE in favor of a tissue paper TE.

I’m sure Ownership and Shawn Payton has had many conversations about where they want this team to go and it doesn’t start with 90% of this current roster.

I’d be willing to bet that when Payton was hired he said he would take the job if only he could rebuild this roster the way he wants and ownership agreed.
