Really great article. I have been wanting us to have more of a teaching culture among our coaches for quite some time and that definitely seems to be what we have especially on the defensive side of the ball.

I also love reading about this kid's work ethic. Not much separates these players it seems like when it comes to athleticism but those who are willing to work to be great seem to rise to the top. So when you read that Georgia Tech now has the "Adam Gotsis Standard" for all players on the team that is just down right impressive. You throw in the guy hardly having played the game was voted by his teammates as a captain just shows they notice how hard this kid works.

Something else to keep in mind with this guy. If Elway was telling the truth and that multiple teams picking in the top of the 3rd were planning on drafting him that probably means they had a 2nd round grade on him. Teams picking in the top of the 3rd are looking for the guys with the highest grades left on their draft board so easy to assume we were not the only ones with a 2nd/3rd round grade on the guy. When you consider he got that kind of draft grade from multiple teams after one a few years of actually playing the sport and suffering a serious injury it definitely shows the upside this kid has.

Great post CD - exactly what excited me reading the article. With Gotsis and Janovich - it appears the Broncos got a couple of cornerstone building blocks are solid character and work ethic - both pointed toward roles needed on the team. You can probably add Simmons to those two - as a draft Trio - about as impressive for their character and leadership in college - as they were for success on the field.

I was, and still am, under the impression that there was some good coaching under the Fox regime as well. Players like Marshall, Harris, Pot, Roast and a few others really progressed.

I believe this as well. Fox was very good at developing players - and was a player's coach too. He also didn't constrain his coaches from doing their jobs as they saw fit.

I think the issue of whether the Broncos were fresh mentally and physically for the playoffs - and if not - why not? Is still a valid area to look into and try to fix.

I think they did some development with players. Every team does some teaching to their players of course. What I love with this regime though is that not only are they having the coaches work with the players but they are also having the veterans really step in and help with the coaching. I remember last year Ware and Miller would stay after practice to help the young guys on their pass rushing moves. They had Vasquez working very closely with Garcia on his development. I think there is something to the idea that players while they will respond to coaches will respond better to that of the veterans who are doing it.

I also think there is something to the fact that Kubiak did give the veterans a lot more days off giving the young guys more opportunities. I always hate to read that a guy is just having to take mental reps on the sideline. While they can be ok it is nothing compared to the actual work on the field taking the real reps.

To me he is a Wolf clone if you really think about it draft wise they were about the same .. I picked out Wolf in the Draft contest because of his none stop motor .. And Stats .... Back then people was blowing fuses that we Drafted Wolf so High ... I was really Jacked we Drafted Him !

I can definitely see the Wolfe comparison. Just hoping the kid puts it together a little earlier than that of Wolfe. I do like the odds of this kid working out with Kollar on board training this kid.

I'll be honest and only saw 2 games of his so far. In those 2 games though he spent the majority of the game double and sometimes triple teamed. So to me when I see something like that you know teams are respecting him and what he brings to the table. He still found ways even with that to disrupt the plays. So he definitely has huge potential. He might not know what to do with himself when he has one-on-one situations.
