Burnett has declined his 12.75 million dollar option and decides to become a free agent. He knows he will get less money elsewhere but he wants to play for a contending team. That gives the Phillies some money to shop for a mid level starter. However I would like to think that Nola will get a chance as well.
I hope Nola has a good spring. Teams like Oakland have had success by giving their young pitchers an early entry into the bigs. Now it is time for the Phillies. IMO>

Kendrick is a free agent. Also since the Phillies did not resign Adams they have an additional 6 million to play with.

we'd be talking about franco and crawford on the left side, asche in the outfield, giles as closer, nola and biddle starting, various prospects from trades that should happen along the way and then the huge free agency block that we would have tons of cash for.

I've been hoping for this for the last two seasons. Hasn't happened, yet.
