If you are banking on AJ providing the team leverage...wow.
No offense, but AJ doesn't offer much more than Dalton. Period. As I said, if the Bengals wanted a real insurance policy, they would have drafted a much higher rated QB earlier in the draft. They didn't.
I explicitly mentioned that I *didn't* say AJ would be any good...... He lasted to the 5th round for a reason.
But you know how Mike Brown works. He can easily play hardball with Dalton's representation when he's got a popular back-up on the roster.
Like it or not, AJ McCarron is a popular back-up.... He's a household name and a LARGE percentage of our fans will believe he is MUCH better than Dalton even if that's not even close to a reality.
Perception is reality and perception is key in the Dalton negotiation.
