Who am I kidding if they let us go back to Redskins I would want the shitty uniforms too. I think this was my favorite uniform .... Larry Brown era, with multiple rings on the sleeves. I had one like this when I was a teenager and have one now.

Those of you who are disappointed that the name won't be changed, were you hoping to go back to Redskins? Yeah I don't see that happening any more than the Guardians going back to Indians.

So what would be the purpose of finding yet another name, their 4th in a handful of years? Redskin Guy will never accept any other name, those like me who didn't like Commanders and wanted something else will be divided on a different name. So a different name will satisfy very few, not worth the time, effort and money.

Because I debated this here for years and the evidence has kind of showed how I was right. Get a potentially great QB when you have the chance and you can turn around your team overnight. Just as the Bengals did with the worst OL in the league and terrible ownership, just as we have done with poor protection, receivers and the lack of a run game. Just as the Colts did with Luck, the Chargers with Rivers, even the Giants with Eli, the Texans with Stroud. Just so many examples to pull from.

As I said Hurts may be the excepton, but if Mahomes wins it's just the same old story told over and over again.

No other name will work for you and those who want the name to return to Redskins.

How much truth was in the last post I referred to (not involving you) had Jerrah and was captioned with everyone knows they are the Redskins. kbso has been a big guy on a specific uniform so I posted a picture of one of my favorite former uniforms. That is his desire and that is cool.

I do not think they will go back to Redskins .... but where is the problem with me wishing they would. I already said I would accept any name that is affiliated with native Americans. That is would be my desire.

I really wanted a name change, but once they beat Detroit, I felt the odds were long. Without a name change we probably have no shot of putting the logo back on the helmet. I really wanted that.

I just want this expansion team look they have right now to be gone. That's what I want most.

As I said I'm not telling you that you are wrong to have this opinion. But you are one of the few people I have heard who would be OK with a similar name. Most everyone I have spoken with who are pro-Redskins name are dug in that they want it back to Redskins, period. I'm simply explaining that to those people a change from Commanders to any other name, even Red Hawks or something similar to Redskins, won't be acceptable.

You are a small group who would want a similar themed name so they won't be catering to such a small group I would think. To the larger group of people who have my opinion we would be split on the new name. Some may want a NA theme, some may not. And those 2 groups would be split into subsets of liking or disliking the alternative name.

That's all I've been trying to say. I have not been trying to school anyone on how they should feel about the name. I did however comment that I think it's crazy that people are so worked up about the name when there are many more important things to be concerned about.

I get that, I have seen some that want Hogs in the name or liked WFT or Red Wolves. You are right that there is not going to be a consensus. I would be happy with a native American themed names. Of course Redskins would be my favorite but I am not expecting it.

I agree most of the old Redskins fans would accept Braves or Warriors. I just cannot accept the racist Commanders name. That name creates images of Native Americans being slaughtered by the US Calvary. That name is much more insulting and racist than any other possibility.

Yeah I would never change my last name for the same reason as you have. I was simply responding to your comment about changing a last name and how it happens in this country literally every day.

As I said you are free to feel anyway you want about the name change. As I also said not sure you have the right to criticize others who don't feel as you do. As you say this is our choice as well.

As for the label I have attached to you I'm pretty sure I am accurate, the outrage from the name change from Redskins comes much more from one political side than the other.

What? Are you serious? How the hell do you think the name got changed in the first place? One side of the political spectrum forced the change.
