The jersey is spot on, but the helmet needs a little less busy work, specifically those unnecessary stripes and seams down the middle. The Lance and solid burgundy color is enough!
Yeah the stripes can stay go on this helmet. I took a long look at the NA logo last night. That logo is never coming back.

As soon as the current uniform contract runs out, I hope they go with this or the original version of these.

Dumbest post on this so far (and there have been plenty of them) Why??? When asked which cities have had teams that have won championships/SBs Washington has to be listed as one of them. Stop the insanity!

Beyond that, stop pulling for the current team that hasn't won anything and continue to root for a team by your own reasoning, that no longer exists. Simple!!

How does that work for a team like the Ravens? Does the Baltimore Colts count as the Baltimore Ravens? Nope. They are different organizations.

Oh, how soon they forget...

12/18/1983: In last NFL regular season game in Memorial Stadium (until 1996), the Colts beat the Oilers, 20-10. TE Pat Beach scored the last TD of game on 12-yard pass from Mike Pagel.
03/28/1984: Colts franchise relocated to Indianapolis.

1995

11/06: Cleveland Browns announced intention to move to Baltimore for 1996 season.

1996

02/09: NFL approved franchise move.
02/15: Ted Marchibroda was named the Ravens' first head coach 21 years and 1 month to the day he was hired by the then-Baltimore Colts in 1975.
03/29: Baltimore's NFL franchise was officially named Ravens after a Baltimore Sun telephone poll received record number of calls supporting the name Ravens.

Teams relocated in this instance, thus the name changes. In the case of the Commanders they are still Washington based and aren't a new team by any stretch of the imagination. Btw; it would work for the Colts/Ravens if the original franchise never relocated and changed the name from Colts to Ravens and/or if as happened the Cleveland Browns after moving to Baltimore adopted the name Ravens.

I didn’t forget. I was simply saying that the location is not relevant to the organizational history.

I disagree with Dad about this being an expansion/new team with no history. As a matter of fact, I believe this “blip” to be a major part of its history. God, I do hope it is a blip.

The location is the only relevant thing, otherwise (using your example) the Colts, after moving to Indy would have still been called the Baltimore Colts, and the Cleveland Browns after moving to Baltimore would have still been called the Cleveland Browns.

Btw: almost everything non-major is a "blip" in history. The original name, the "R", WFT, and at some point Commanders will all go down in history as blips, should they change to a permanent name that lasts more than any of the previous ones.

I don,t look for a name change soon, does anybody else?
This is a tricky one and the reason falls squarely on the perspective of the people who are complaining most about it. Here's what I mean...

If this team continues to falter on the field these folks' complaints will grow louder and louder, however, if consistent winning becomes a thing their numbers will shrink as many get on board the good thing. Optimistically, next year or no later than just before the 2025 season would be a prime time to make such a change.

By the way: I know that they've been busy, but I believe that a uniform restoration or change should have been a prime concern and among their first moves, if, for no other reason as a goodwill gesture and nod toward those who felt a certain kind of way about the current rebranding and loss of the one that served from 1933 until 2019. (Geaux Warhawks, 70th-anniversary uniforms, and Lance helmet)

I would never do that, knowing that time could reduce your numbers, and at some point that shrinking minority to a group similiar to this one...

Which team has retired Johnny Unitas’ number as a Baltimore Colt?

What team did Eric Dickerson play for?

What team did Eric Dickerson play for?

The Baltimore Colts retired Johnny Unitas number 19 in 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland. This ceremony took place in 1977, honoring his legendary career with the team.
This was a fitting tribute to one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, who played for the Colts from 1956 to 1972 and led them to multiple championships.

ED played for the Indianapolis Colts from 1987 to 1991. The Colts relocated to Indianapolis on 03/28/1984

In both instances, there was no location called "Colts." One played in Baltimore the other in Indianapolis.
