hold up, the Cavs are up 2-1 and somehow this is a "must win" for THEM???:wtf2: sorry, but i don't get that one...

Look through the last couple pages and I explain why. Lack of depth, tiring issues, etc.

Yeah we are, probably 15 minutes apart.

That's The Merchant I'm talking about. For the prices, it's a great place to eat.

Never had Russo's but I live really close to State. However, Blue Door is probably the gem of Cuyahoga Falls, IMO. If you haven't been there for breakfast or lunch, I highly recommend. Lebron and his wife were actually there last Sunday.

Yes, Merchant is good. Mrs Redfoot and I go there from time to time and sit at the bar.

People have told me about Blue Door. I'm going to have to give that a try. I highly recommend Russo's, but it comes with a caveat. The atmosphere sucks, the service often sucks, but the food is really amazing. If you sit at the bar, the service is better, but you'll need reservations.

Haha, that Sheraton is basically on Broad and 2nd. I just moved from my house on Broad and 19th. Beau's on the River (the restaurant in that Sheraton) is evidently pretty good.

Beau got his start in Akron, and his food is pretty good. He's a dick, though.

Oh wow, Russo's is just north of me. I live on Wyoga Lake Rd. now. Will have to get the girlfriend to check it out here soon.

Blue Door has a hipster atmosphere but every employee there is amazingly friendly. The owner is a former marine, and everything there is made from scratch. They even have an in-house bakery. They also do rotating weekly specials. You'll spend $30-40 for two for breakfast but it's well worth it.

From Nov 3, 2012.

(CNSNews.com) - An NBC-Wall Street Journal-Marist poll of likely Ohio voters published on Nov. 3 shows that 45 percent say they are conservative, 23 percent say they are liberal and Barack Obama is leading Mitt Romney by 6 points, 51 percent to 45 percent.

The poll said that in calculating that Obama is up 51 percent to 45 percent in Ohio it included what it called "leaners." "Leaners," the polls says, "are defined as voters who are undecided yet leaning toward a candidate."

Haha, I've never actually heard much about the guy. I really want to try the restaurant though. Does he have any more in the area?

Haha, you would not be wrong by saying that. In 2011, USA Today ranked Ohio City (suburb about 2 minutes from downtown) the 4th best place to barhop in the world.

USA Today calls Ohio City one of the world's best neighborhoods for bar hopping: Michael K. McIntyre's Tipoff | cleveland.com

I basically grew up on Broad St even though I lived in Akron, across the bridge, over the Gorge. I had many friends that lived off of Broad Street and actually went to school right at St. Joes in elementary school.

Yeah, he's hooked up with the guy who owns the hotels. He's got a Beau's in the Fairlawn Hilton, too. No idea which is better, but the Sheraton is certainly closer.

Beau's first place was actually where The Merchant is. Then he moved to Fairlawn Plaza, then into the Fairlawn Hilton.

You'll forgive me if I don't have time for that?

No problem.
Maybe some others with more time can/will help you.

And I'll let the political stuff go.
There's forums for that.
I only mentioned it when the racist posts started.

Hey, thanks. I'll put this in the "who gives a fuck" file.

I should also add that I don't know if he's really a dick. I had an unpleasant exchange with him one evening, probably close to twenty years ago. He could have just been having a bad day. No biggie.

True.
Nobody outside of who lives in Ohio gives a fuck about anything that happens there.

Prob why the Rock 'N Roll HOF inductions are held in NY.

If I was polled, I'd probably say that I was conservative. Doesn't mean I'm an anti-gay, anti-abortion, bible-thumping racist.

I'm losing more confidence in your opinions with each post.

Man, that place where the Merchant is has changed hands several times. It seems like we finally have a winner there, though.

This. Cleveland is a damn nice place. It was decent when I was working there in the 90s but my buddy who moved there loves it and so do his wife and kids. The weather in the winter absolutely sucks and is a deal-breaker for me.

It's taken some well-deserved lumps, but overall it's really enjoyable. It's going through a sort of renaissance right now, with the Cavs coming back, the Indians starting to compete, the RNC, and all of the new restaurants/breweries opening up. It's definitely a lot better than about 6-7 years ago.
