Agreed. My only beef with many of the people I met in the Cleveland was the overt racism I heard from people. Has that been an issue for you?

Not to stir the pot, but MY OPINION is that the area is flooded with tons of Bible Thumpers, most struggling financially, that vote strictly republican because they are anti gay/anti abortion.

Going to take a different approach here...

Ultimately, I think the Warriors will prevail in a monumental Game 7 for the ages...

if for no other reason than the Cavs are just going to wear down. I've got nothing but respect for what Cleveland is doing but sustaining that effort level is going to be extremely difficult. Having said that, I've been watching basketball since the mid-sixties and I can't remember anything quite like what Lebron James is doing right now. Magic's closeout game against the Sixers with Kareem injured in 1980 comes to mind as well as some of Jordan's performances. But Kareem was the MVP in 1980 and played a huge role in getting the Lakers to a closeout game. Jamal Wilkes also had a monster game to support Magic. Jordan had Scottie Pippen - an all time great himself - during his championship runs.

What Lebron is doing in these playoffs he is doing without anyone even remotely approaching that stature. That's pretty amazing, I have to admit.

I'm in Cuyahoga Falls. I haven't been to either of those, though Parallax is on my radar. I'm going to Butcher and the Brewer next month. Blue Point is lovely, as is Cabin Club in Westlake. Delmonico's, however, was wildly disappointing.

In Akron, Ken Stewart's Lodge had one of the best strips I've ever had in my life (actually I guess that's in Bath). Diamond Grille is an oldy but a goodie. I want to check out Dante Bocuzzi's place, DBA, soon.

In Cuyahoga Falls, I go to Burntwood Tavern occasionally, and I really like The Merchant and Craft Beer (really original name, right?).

Damn, we're close. Blue Point is good. Haven't been there in a while. Same with Cabin Club. Never been to Delmonico's.

I used to go to the Stewart's Lodge and Grill very often, but with all the options these days, they just seem overpriced. I ate at DBA a couple weeks ago. Really good.

Are you talking about The Merchant in Merriman Valley? That's about 5-10 minutes from my house. Crazy.

Cuyahoga Falls. Have you tried Russo's on State?

My wife was born/raised in Cuyahoga Falls.
We often stay at the Sheraton with the cool waterfall when we visit.

One of the best cities in the nation for beer/breweries, huge winery scene about 30 min east of the city (18 wineries at last count), tons of new restaurants have been going in, enormous Metroparks system. Plenty to do there, last I saw.

If they hate white people, that's their problem.

This. Cleveland is a damn nice place. It was decent when I was working there in the 90s but my buddy who moved there loves it and so do his wife and kids. The weather in the winter absolutely sucks and is a deal-breaker for me.

Well, I hope your opinions on basketball are more factual than this.

Cleveland's defense has been the key to this series by FAR! They have made GS's offense look very pedestrian in these first three games. If they can keep that up, they can win. If they stop playing defense and think LeBron's 40 is enough, they will lose. Simple as that. I'm surprised more of you don't see that.

We're getting ahead of ourselves anyway. It's 2-1, for cryin' out loud.

There is a list of I'd say about a dozen things that totally support/prove that he knew exactly what he was doing, WELL before the announcement?

Do we need to rehash?

No, no. Uncle.

Let's just carry on :suds:

Yeah we are, probably 15 minutes apart.

That's The Merchant I'm talking about. For the prices, it's a great place to eat.

Never had Russo's but I live really close to State. However, Blue Door is probably the gem of Cuyahoga Falls, IMO. If you haven't been there for breakfast or lunch, I highly recommend. Lebron and his wife were actually there last Sunday.

Which county?
I'm not saying all.
It's no different here in Florida.
The population of Dade/Broward carried Obama.
Northern Florida is totally the opposite.
Drive towards Gainesville/Tallahasee... all you see is the billboards supporting the ultra conservatives.

Haha, that Sheraton is basically on Broad and 2nd. I just moved from my house on Broad and 19th. Beau's on the River (the restaurant in that Sheraton) is evidently pretty good.

Haha, you would not be wrong by saying that. In 2011, USA Today ranked Ohio City (suburb about 2 minutes from downtown) the 4th best place to barhop in the world.

USA Today calls Ohio City one of the world's best neighborhoods for bar hopping: Michael K. McIntyre's Tipoff | cleveland.com
