Talking as a guy who has been to over 10 eagles skins games in philly my only advice is don't start anything with anyone. They are a pack of wolves and when alcohol is involved it can get messy. I could never do it myself as I always had to represent but to each his own I advise wearing no redskins gear. I've seen grown men screaming at 9 yr old kids wearing Portis jerseys fuckin faggots, I've been shown a pistol in the parking lot telling me not the be after the game if the skins win, beer dumped on people all the time. All in all I'm told it's not the majority of fans but the problem is the good fans say and do nothing about the bad ones so they're all Assholes to me.

Although it wasn't all bad I must admit New Year's Day 2005 beating the shitbirds in Philly to make the playoffs and as the sea of green was filing out with about 2 min to go there seemed like 15,000 skins fans singing HTTR and that was awesome

wow. I am about 4 hours away. I heard it was a nice stadium. I guess if I was going to go I would have to get the club level tickets. Less bullshit. Isnt the stadium right off 95?

So I run about 6'3" 300 lbs, so I tend to not get scared in most situations, however throw in firearms and I'm scared like a little girl. Thanks for the advice Kevin12773.

this will be my third game wearing a redskins jersey in the last 5 years, and usually people just say stuff. As long as you don't respond and take it personally, it usually shakes out alright. The people that react and get all upset usually get the worst of it.

HTTR I'll try to report back if anything weird happens while I'm there.

About 10 years ago a friend and I got front row seats for a Monday night game in Landover. I wore a Donovan McNabb jersey and my friend wore another Eagles Jersey. We had crap thrown at us the whole game. When we left, my car was trashed. Say what you want about Eagles fans, and for the most part I will agree, but, that crap goes on everywhere. It is not just a Philadelphia thing. Enjoy the game.

I agree that it happens in most places, but usually whatever happens to you is deserved. Right? Like you aren't just cheering for your team, you are gloating and making fun of others. Not saying that's what you did, just saying that usually that type of action is the one that gets crap thrown at ya.

Sorry @ that. I assume that you were wearing an Eagles McNabb jersey. If you were wearing a Redskins McNabb jersey (anytime recently) you probably would have had more things thrown your way.

And you have the fact the eagles are playing well at the moment so they should be in good mood at least but a night game all bets are off

Have fun man ... eat a cheesesteak and a Philly hoagie and a soft pretzel. We used to get them from the street vendor right after we crossed the Tacony Palmyra bridge back into PA when we went home to visit family.

And you are right on, don't start no shit and there most likely won't be no shit.

Kevin,

Curious about your take on the current fans vs the fans when the Eagles played at the Vet (sounds like you have been to both the Linc & Vet). I have been to a few games in Philly but years ago at the Vet & when the Eagles were not contenders. The crowd was rough but admittedly I egged them on somewhat. I have been to that sports complex but only for a Phillies game & the overall complex seems very nice.

I would have thought that by default the crowd would be better behaved. Like most stadiums the tickets have to cost a lot more & I would have thought this would be a better behaved crowd (although you can't really assume this - the guy who incited the "Malice at the Palace" fiasco in DET was a millionaire). Oh well - just trying to see if the crowds are different. I remember years ago when some of the Philly fans broke the leg of the Redskins mascot (RIP).

I sit up in section 220 with my grandson. I admit it a CAN get pretty nasty up there, and not only there, especially if alcohol is involved. I have seen some fights up there and I do not like to see it, especially for the kids sake. A few years ago there were two very nice young ladies sitting next to us at a Seahawks game there, and they had those temporary little Seahawks tattoos on their cheeks. I would say they were in their early twenties, minding their own business, watching the game. They had things thrown at them and were heckled by some young fans behind them that had too much to drink, so they left. Hopefully just to find other seats. I felt sorry for them. We have a great view of route 95 from up there, and I generally enjoy the whole experience as long as it isn’t raining. At my age I am more of a fair weather fan. Actually, sometimes I enjoy the tailgating with the guys almost as much as the game. We try to eat and drink and fill up there rather than pay the high prices at the concessions. I like the Eagles, but I could never see getting so upset over a loss that it got me depressed or want to hurl insults at a fan of the other team. We won’t be there for the Redskins game but will be there for the 49’ers and the Broncos. We try to get to at least two games a season.

The new stadium is definitely an improvement in behavior as opposed to the vet and people say don't ask for trouble and you'll be alright but I've seen shit that made my blood boil happening to strangers. My take is those fans are so starved for a winner they take frustrations out on any one not wearing green and that includes women and children which is disgusting. My boss has season tickets as an eagle fan and naturally takes me to skins game but I stopped going because it was more enjoyable from my basement. Again tailgating with 90% of the people is excellent but it's the ones looking for trouble that ruin it and It's the "good" fans who say or do nothing to stop it is when I get pissed.last game I went to I saw a guy in the Concorse in a Riggins jersey walking in front of me with 2 beers get pushed from behind spilling his beer and when he started talking to security guard he was ejected from stadium and I said at that moment I ain't coming back.so I turn down the offer every year now
