Thats not the way to look at it awaz. I never do. And being against leaving your feet and targeting the head has nothing to do with pussification... I'm actually getting irritated at you fuckfaces.

i was just tempering B4L's comment.. but i do think you'd have a different reaction if corvo gets hurt to if marchand (your favorite player if i'm not mistaken) gets hurt

i know i do.. its just a fact.. i care more about giroux than i do about bourdon or gustaffson.. so i'm going to react differently if he's hit than if bourdon gets hit

See, I am fine with the Neil hit. A legal hit is a legal hit. Turris was dirty.

see i never really understand that philosophy.. when it all boils down to it, why do you hate the hit that was dirty? cause it hurt one of your guys right? why not get the same amount of angry on a clean hit that hurts one of your guys?

if someone punches my friend square in the face and he knows its coming, i'm not just gunna shrug and say, 'hey it was a clean punch'.. i'm gunna jump in and fight for/with him

i'm pretty sure i'm alone here, but i really dont have a problem when guys stick up for teammates that get massacred on clean hits

Reacting after clean hits is whats wrong with the league and why the instigator was created. Clean meaning it's within the rules....did not do anything wrong. Why should someone who did the right thing have to pay for it? It's hockey.

I am so strongly against this. It actually pisses me off whenever I see it, no matter what team it is.

sometimes you gotta stand up for yourself too though.. its hockey.. i dno it just doesn't make sense to me.. cheap shots and guys are allowed to get jumped.. clean, but potentially career ending hits, are fine

i just dont get how that's cohesive.. a team stands up for eachother, regardless of the legality of the hit in question.. what kind of message does it send when rinaldo lays a shoulder in to gaborik's sternum and shatters a few ribs and the rags just sit there and say 'well it was clean..'

i'm not saying you take the guy's head and slam it off the ice.. but challenging him to a fight (or forcing him to fight) or wrecking his day in retaliation is the right thing to do in my eyes

Exactly. "You" need to stand up for yourself. If you get hit hard because you were vulnerable, then either don't put yourself in that situation or get back up and look to do the same thing.

I don't agree with teammates jumping in after a good clean hit. That is sending the message that the checker isn't allowed to do what he did. But he is allowed because it's hockey and hitting is apart of the game.

This isn't the old time hockey where you need to fear enforcers who can just start punching your teeth out and it's totally legal.

he hardly left his feet.. watch his right skate on the replay.. its on the ground until he hits corvo's skate and basically trips in to him.. and its lined up shoulder to shoulder til corvo opens in to the hit

i get that your mad that your guy got hit, but its not a vicisious hit, its not like he's flying in there from 180 ft like jack edwards thinks.. he's drifting in to him for the last 6 feet, lined up square to the shoulder.. corvo opens up, and turris hits him in the head

i woulda been fine if he got suspended for a game too.. but calling for blood is a bit much.. in my eyes the bruins should be going after neil.. his hit was completely legal, but that was a MUCH harder hit.. and i'm all for fighting for what hurt a teammate

So lets break that down.

1) He hardly left his feet....Yup that should = suspension
2) Turris hits him in the head ... Yup that should = suspension

Screw that crap. Even if Shanny just gave him a fine I would have been ok with it but to dismiss the incident as a non issue is complete bullshit.

You see, the thing about it is, Turris is so small, he really has to leave his feet to hit guys. Much like Chara is so tall, he can't help but smash players heads into the sides of the glass.

I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist. :ss:

So lemme ask the Philly faithful this question.

If Marchand hit Giroux with that exact same hit you would not be here crying that Marchand is a dirty ****?

That's part of what's wrong with the NHL, having to fight over a clean hit

Couple things.

1. Assuming giroux had similar amount of pain and suffering, aka none, I don't think I'd care that much.

2. Regardless of how much we'd like to think players involved don't matter, giroux means a lot more to the flyers than corvo does to the bruins, and Marchand is a cheap little **** to begin with so...

3. ... He probably would've been suspended as a repeat offender.

I'm perfectly ok with a team saying its not ok to hit their players. Cause really, if you convince the other team to not hit your players, you're probably gunna win some hockey games.

I think if you're willing to make a hit like that, you better e ready to defend what you did. Saying you're not allowed to step in right away is begging the victim's team to take a cheap run at someone down the line. I'd much rather have the guy making the hit be ready to defend himself right there then let it stew and have the players force a big hit, which would likely result in something dangerous and cheap.

Fighting is part of hockey too, if you wanna be a man and punish someone, be a man and stand up for what you did. If you're a real man youll knock out two chumps in one play.
