On Sportsnet, Nick Kypreos spoke about Glen Sather’s future.

Kypreos said, “there isn’t much talk of Glen Sather and the Rangers moving forward, there is some talk about Bryan Murray getting an extension in Ottawa but how about the other 70 year old in New York. There is a lot of talk about whether he wants to go into next season as the general manager or will he relinquish some of that power. So yea, there is some speculation about some changes coming to New York.

Well then...

Don't know what to expect.

They should've replaced him with Messier this offseason IMO.

I heard Mess wanted to be a GM more than anything and only put his name in the hat for coaching because of pressure from the organization. That's why he was sort of pissed when they named Alain Vigneault as the coach. I could be wrong but that's what I recall reading this offseason.

A lot that cameout was blown out of proportion bu the media. He still has tied with our organization and he didn't leave because he was pissed, he's still apart of our team and still has a lot to do with one of the bridges in Brooklyn.

True, NYC media does tend to blow things out of proportion and hockey writers seem to go based on rumors instead of facts.

That seems to be standard practice among hockey writers.

Same as Garrioch with the Ottawa Sun, guy spews out bullshit and people believe it, but hey if you can make a living off of it, so be it. Can't blame em.

Yeah true, they're just making a living. But these guys shouldn't be given press passes or interviews IMO.

True, very few hockey writers are worth listening to. Those 2 are probably the most credible. Local beat writers tend to be over glorified trolls IMO.
