He gets plenty of touches in the current offense.... And, we were leaning on him a lot last night before the injury. I think we're using him well. We sure missed him in overtime though.

Gio still can't pass-block. A major reason why he's not in there a lot more.

He also still struggles between the tackles. With the OL playing as poorly as they did, using Benjarvis was needed at times.

I think Gio benefits from not having to shoulder the entire load. It probably should be mroe a 60/40 split with Gio getting more, but...this is the same coaching staff that continues to watch Gresham collect more penalties than catches, while Eiffert sits on the bench.

yea, he'll continue to split with law-firm... who was seemingly a better player in New England.

anyhow, with the injury no way he dominates touches at rb

Gio is fine in the role he's used currently. We need him healthy. Now Eifert, there's the dude that needs to fuckin start. Gresham is about as reliable as a busted condom.

I thought Eifert looked lost last night. It seemed like we had a scheme that was relying on him getting to a spot to offer a lead block and he simply couldn't do it. Gio's amazing touchdown was a prime example of horrible blocking.

I can cut the kid some slack as he is probably still learning the position, but I have a hard time understanding how we have four tight ends on the roster and the two we use most consistently are such liabilities in the run game.

Agreed there. The blocking issues he had in college have reared their head so far in the NFL. That being said, there is no reason we shouldn't be taking advantage of Eifert as a downfield threat and third down option. Why the fuck else is he on the roster. Split him out in the slot and use him in Gresham's role in the passing game. Of course this would involve the coaching staff thinking outside the box and using a player in a position of strength rather than forcing them to do something they struggle with.

Agreed..... Last night it appeared we had a scheme that wasn't likely to be effective. Don't know why we continually force square pegs into round holes around here.

Having Tom Brady at QB does aid in opening a run game

what you talkin' bout willis? compare Brady's weapons to Andy Dalton's weapons, and the rhetoric around here that Dalton is a good QB (which is an non-debatable fact... simply because no one has the energy to debate it)

I'm having trouble telling whether your post is sarcastic or not.
