Good move by the Bengals.... Gio is a playmaker and they got a good value.

Great move.. 3 years is the perfect timeframe for a RB at his age. They have him through his whole prime and at a good price. Wonder if there's an uptick in his carries since they have him under contract.

Bengals continue to do well in drafting and then retaining players at good deals for both sides. It would be nice if it translated in the playoffs, but in terms of building a team that should have staying power, the Bengals have done a fabulous job over the past 5+ years.

Every time the bengals re-sign a player that isn't Kevin Zeitler, I die a little on the inside.

Just to pre-empt, I have no clue if they've approached him on a deal...

However, I would find it hard to believe that they haven't, or obviously plan to. Now, he may not want to take a deal like some of the other players did. Maybe he falls more in line with getting what he can while he can, and certainly nothing wrong with that. Careers are only so long, and just a play away from being ended.

That being said, I feel pretty confident that the Bengals would certainly try to work a deal out with him that is pretty fair on both ends. It's been the trend over the past 5-6 years. Don't lose hope... It's not the playoffs...LOL

Everything you said is true. And that worries me. I thought I remember Hobspin a while back saying something like it was inevitable they would get a new deal done with him, and he was the kind of player who'd play his whole career here.

On a side note, I've been dead on the inside for years now.

I don't think he'll re-sign before FA..... Osemele signed a huge deal in Oakland and DeCastro is going to get a huge deal. The market for guards is going to be a bit unrealistic...... If his agent doesn't let him go to FA, he's not doing his job and I highly doubt we'll pay him the amount that he'll get on the open market. I'm also not sure that we should.

To be clear, I like Zeitler a lot..... I just think the market for guards is probably too inflated because of some recent and impending transactions. And it's still not a premium position.
