lol how sad......

Pittsburgh fans aren't allowed to have opinions on dirty play.
2 minutes off of a 9 game suspension, he ran Clusterfuck's head into the glass with a forearm shiver.
there's a vid in the other Gilles thread.
How do you spell melodrama?
just ban the idiot
That's what I said last night. The guy is a fucking nut case. There is a difference between playing tough and hard when needed, then there's just plain fucking stupid.
As an Isles fan what Gillies did last night did bother me. I don't expect Gillies to be back this year & I hope the Islanders let him walk at the end of the year. I have no problem with playing tough in your face hockey. However players need to learn from their mistakes. Gillies wasn't able to do that. I don't think he deserves a third chance to wear an Isles jersey.
That's the biggest thing. If you've learned from your mistake your elbow wouldn't come up above your waist all game. Suspensions are supposed to act as a deterrent against these actions, and if that doesn't work you really have to throw the book. That said, I don't think this action (minus his track record) would normally get a big suspension, but knowing the situation you have to be really harsh.

His post-game comments said that he had no intent to injure the guy...and I believe that, however I'm pretty sure you're taught from a young age to keep your hands/stick down when hitting someone. It's just so boneheaded.
yeah, if it's Clusterfuck throwing the hit, that's 2 games.
for him, I think they really want to escalate from 9 because it's just so soon after the last one.
that makes what.... 12?
did gillies even have a stick in his hand? Didn't look like it, to me.
No I don't think he did, I was just saying that in general you're taught to keep the stick down, as well as the hands.
