I seriously doubt Harrison comes up this year, but you never know.
And that is likely the right call. He has had a long year. Let the strain and success soak in over the off season, then invite him to camp with a legit shot at the #5 spot (Though expect him to start the year in Sactown)

Since coming back from the IL, Bart’s playing time…

Tuesday - Started and caught 8 innings (night game)
Wednesday - DNP (day game)
Thursday (game 1) - Started and caught 8 innings (day game)
Thursday (game 2) - caught 1 inning (night game)
Friday - caught 3 innings as an injury replacement (day game)

If this were Posey, I would be OK with it. But this is a rookie. Why is he being handled like he has 14 years of MLB catching already logged on his knees?

Because why force it? Save some miles on him for games that matter.

Since the trade…

Ruf - 22 G, 56 PA, .137/.179/.196/.375, 0 HR
Davis - 32 G, 95 PA, .235/.347/.457/.804, 5 HR

And we got 3 young pitchers who all look like at least future major leaguers.

I hope FZ has an alibi for his whereabouts when this trade went down. This one might qualify as a felony.

LOL

I didnt notice that one. How is it even possible to have an OPS+ that low?

Apparently, there have been “DFA DARIN” chants at Mets games already.

If they were to do so, don't think FZ wouldn't be on his cell phone immediately.

I was thinking about this. While Ruf left on great terms, and I like him, he was traded because he really doesn’t fit the needs of this team anymore. I think FZ would pass on him at this time.

9 of Roger’s last 11 outings have been scoreless
- In that 11 game stretch, Rogers has only been charged with 2 ER
- Only 3 of those outings were <1 IP, and all 3 of those were 0.2 IP
- 3 of those outings were >2 IP

He's a piece moving forward, just not a late inning guy anymore.

I thought he'd get better but it took longer than I expected.

Alex Wood expects a decision to come on whether he pitches again this season to come this weekend, after he throws again. Entering off-season in full health, Giants out of playoff race weighing his mind.

I thought for a bit he'd be jettisoned after the season. Glad I was wrong.
At one point, I also wondered if he would be gone but there were so many bad pieces to the bullpen I assumed that he would have to continue to get worse to get thrown out.

He was so important to the pen last year, I always thought he would be given more rope, but I wouldn’t have been totally shocked either way.

If we give rope to hitters who have bad years, why not give rope to relievers who have bad years?

I really think the commissioner's office needs to reign in the circus the waiver wire has become. Players did not used to bounce around this much during a season 10 years ago. Did you all know that the RiverCats saw 94 different players suit up this year (95 once Taylor Jones plays a game)?

Here are my thoughts. Either baseball limits the number of times a team can dfa and send through outright waivers their players or they come up with a solution on extending the number of seasons a team can option a player with the player's union. I would think that players, at least those who are most affected with the constant shuffle of moving from one organization to another, would be okay with that kind of solution. However, I have not thought deeply on what would be the reasons either of these rule changes would be bad.

The SFGiants have posted a .231 batting average, which is the 23rd-best mark in baseball. That number is helped by the fact that they lead baseball with a .571 batting average on bunt attempts. If we remove all bunt attempts, the team average would fall to .227 (3rd-worst)

At least the offense is doing something right.
