I would hope this puts an end to the talks of Suh getting paid anywhere near 16 or 17 million now. If I were Mayhew -- I'd call Suh's agent and offer him 14,000,001 per year.

Yep, I just saw this on NFL Network. It definitely should end all the crazy talk.

I still think Suh is concerned about building his image......Like a lot of superstars (Tiger Woods, Jordan, Lebron etc etc) they make more money in endorsements then they do in their contracts.....The best way to do that is go to a big market.

Say goodbye to Suh......He's going to a big market.

Damn, that is pretty doomy and gloomy lol. This has some truth to it but obviously you zero evidence to show you know what is on Suh's mind. If Detroit has a big year and Suh likens to Caldwell, I don't see why he wouldn't re-sign. Only time shall tell.

The days of players playing for there coaches are over IMO....I wish it wasn't.....I miss those days when players actually cared for one another and were big families. It doesn't exist anymore.

You are correct in one thing....Only time will tell and I think I'm right like always. But hope you are right.

Yep, I think it comes down to how far the Lions make it.

Why would it? McCoy couldn't carry Suh's jock.

Nothing has changed. The majority of players play to win. If the lions continue with their dominant defense and play well theres a good chance suh comes back.

I'm thinking now that Suh will get about 7 years, a hundred mil. Hopefully they reopen talks now that the market has been set. I think McCoy had been trying to wait for Suh because there are a lot of people around here who are foolish enough to think he's better than Suh but his stock seemed to be teetering on dropping so he had to go ahead and get locked up before it plummets. At the end of the day though if Suh wants more than the hundred mil, all he has to do is show Mayhew McCoy's tape and say "this fuggin guy got 98"!!

Just because Tampa was stupid enough to overpay McCoy, does not mean we have to be stupid too. The can give Suh the same deal. Its the amount most of the sane folks here were targeting.

Maybe give him a bit more guaranteed. What the heck, we are already saddled with tons of dead money with him anyway. Might as well get something for it.

:L Pass me some of that Kool-Aid.

McCoy is as soft as cotton. He disappears for stretches, sometimes for games. It's not Kool-Aid IMO. He got that money now watch him not show up for the game today.

The last two years -- McCoy has been as good as any DT in the game. He has always been good against the run, but the last two years -- he has improved vastly in rushing the passer (finishing with more sacks than Suh)

Coming into this year -- Pretty much every sports publication had McCoy rated as the #1 DT, Suh as the #2 DT. To say either player couldn't hold the others jock is ridiculous, if you ask me.

As far as disappearing -- it happens to every DT. That is the nature of the position. Suh averaged about 2.5 tackles last year with 5.5 sacks. McCoy averaged a little over 3 tackles a game with 9.5 sacks. Neither huge numbers, but that is what you get from the DT position. You may have games where they 5 tackles or you may get games where you get 1 tackle. They were both 1st team all-pro DT's.

With the whole money talk. If McCoy hadn't already been paid a monster contract -- remember -- he was drafted 3rd overall when the rookie contracts were absurd, like Suh. So he already has more money than he could ever spend.

I was going to say I'll pass you some glasses instead. But you'd just use them to read the stat sheet.

Yeah -- because I'm sure you are breaking down game film while watching the Bucs every Sunday to make the type of comment you did.

Since you want to pass me glasses -- tell me how many TB games have you watched from start to finish, not including the one game against the Lions, in the last two years?
