The totality of playing in the SEC is big-boy football, when compared to other conferences. It's physical play week-in and week-out, a grind where the teams beat each other up. Also, UF is 4-5 this year, we're 5-4 and just beat them 40-17.

If Auburn or Arky were in the Pac-12, they'd be competing for the championship.
Auburn certainly would as I said. Disagree with Arky. We don’t have much to go on other than UCLA beating LSU, Stanford beating Vandy & A&M surviving against Colorado. From that small sample size I think leans to my point.

Easier to do............... :rolleyes2:
For comparison's sake, here are the previous season's leaders in Defense F+ rating. This would make them the second best defense of the last decade plus.

2021 - Georgia - 2.62
2020 - Georgia - 1.80
2019 - Ohio St - 2.13
2018 - Miss St - 2.14
2017 - Alabama - 2.49
2016 - Alabama - 2.74
2015 - Alabama - 2.39
2014 - Ole Miss - 1.99
2013 - Florida St - 1.77
2012 - Florida - 2.27
2011- Alabama - 2.55

Would love to see that as well

osu ending season with 3 straight losses would be a good thing for CFB
Spread is -20.5, which was what USC-UF was last week. I definitely like the Boilermakers to beat the spread.

i think the OP is looking at the optics of the current rankings. It just so happens this year the end of the regular season is where the B1G will have all the big match ups between the best teams of the conference. tSEC has already cannibalized itself.

Have to disagree. Auburn sucks. IMHO, GA is lucky this year that so many SEC teams are down.......... they have a cakewalk to the CCG. Look at LSU, Auburn, Fla...........

Clemson - #37
UAB - #66
South Carolina - #68
Vanderbilt - #119
Arkansas - #26
Auburn - #17 (yay a ranked team!!!)
Kentucky - #35
Florida - #64
Missouri - #87
yet to play........
Tennessee - #34
Charleston Southern - FCS ( :L) But I'll throw them in at 140
Georgia Tech - #80
If history is any indication these rankings will change considerably before it is all over. In 2019 from the 11 week to the final poll the Big Ten rankings fell 24 spots while the SEC climbed 47 spots. At this point the Big Ten has a total ranking 561 and the SEC has a total ranking of 571. If history repeats itself the Big Ten will fall to 585 (that's +24 spots) while the SEC will climb to 524 (that's -47 spots).

1 - you are using results from 2 years ago.
2 - you are switching from looking at one specific team, and jumping to the entire conference. I was comparing GA with OSU.

and 3 - ever heard of SEC bias in the rankings?? Its very real. please don't try to downplay this. OSU is blatantly screwed over all the time in the rankings. OSU fell 3 separate times in the rankings despite winning handily this year. bama loses to an unranked team, and fell 1/2 the degree most other teams would have. If bama wins a close game, the sports pundits are like" they won a hard fought battle - good teams find a way to win".......... :rolleyes2::mad2::puke:

PF 463 - PA 202 played one currently ranked team so far and lost played 3 that were ranked at game time

PF 387 - PA 76 played one currently ranked team and played 4 that were ranked at game time.

Neither team is playing great competition if you go by rankings alone

You were comparing the ranking of their opponents of which 2/3 are IN conference games. I was merely pointing out that the ranking of the Big Ten teams probably will go down and the ranking of the SEC teams probably will go up and this would change the SOS.

There is a way to analyze that removes scheduling and voter bias. I posted this earlier. If Purdue is the seventh best team in the Big Ten in a given year then they are expected to beat all other teams in the other P5 conferences ranked 8-14, tie the #7 teams and lose to all teams 1-6 in the other conferences. This sets up expectations for Purdue. Now simple consult the results for those games and see if Purdue exceeded, met, or failed those expectations. Let's look at OSU.

From 2000-2019 OSU played 42 OOC teams. In 25 of those games OSU was higher ranked in the Big Ten than their opponents were in their conference and therefore the expectation was for OSU to win those 25 games. They were 21-4. In 13 of the games OSU was the same position as their opponents (9 were #1 vs #1) and therefore should have been 6.5-6.5 (a split). OSU was 5-8 in those games. Finally in 4 of the games OSU was in a lower position in the Big Ten than their opponents and therefore the expectation was that they should lose these games. OSU was 0-4. Overall the expectations for OSU were 31.5- 10.5 while on the field they were 26-16. Thus OSU lost 5.5 games more than they should have or 13.1 % of the games.

I’m hoping both Michigan and our little brother gets the job done, but if only one can succeed, then Michigan it is.

It’s not like osu is some Alabama team that wins before the game is even played

OSU played Oregon (3), PSU (8), and Purdue(19), and will play MSU & mi. (6 & 7) Who else plays a tougher 3 game stretch than 19/6/7??

GA played no one who is now ranked. and will play an FCS and GT that is terrible. Clemson was horribly overranked.

lol. good luck with that. oh, and fixed it for you.

know that Ryan Day won't duck and hide from the game by using a BS excuse like little jimmy did last year. That prick took away the biggest college football game of the year from college football fans last year because he knew OSU would've destroyed them......... he knew he had the perfect out.

both OSU and UGA have played one current top 25 team. OSU lost to theirs. Period. You go to the B1G champ and play an average Whiskey team. UGA will play #2 in ATL
