Maybe since the pitcher was due up next? I still would have bunted though and pinch hit for Cain. Story of the season though they never bunt to move runners over..

It is a season long problem, our situational hitting is awful.

With guys on 2nd and 3rd, a sac fly gets a run, a passed ball, a wild pitch, a balk, a hit gets two, etc.

I know Bochy does not like to give up outs, but when you have trouble scoring runs, it seems logical to me to get RISP.

However, if Whiteside cannot bunt, why not pinch hit for him with someone who can? And if a major leaguer cannot sacrifice bunt, what are they doing on the team in the first place? (Unless their name is Pujols or the like)

Maybe Bochy should have started Huff, who will break out of his season long funk any day now, I can feel it.
