No. But it keeps you from being tagged out on an errant throw up the line (which seem to happen a lot on balls hit into the 5.5 hole).

Good point gp. I still think I'd cringe when my players did it because you can break a hand, finger or jam a finger, etc. (not saying that you're advocating for it, just sayin')

Yes. I wouldn't recommend it for kids. I'm not a big fan of super competitive play for kids under 16.

Wouldn't you get nervous though if Pujols, Votto or CarGo did that too?

Not really. It'd be unfortunate for them for sure.... but I just feel kids are just much more susceptible to having their development stunted by injury.

There has been a Stokes sighting.....I expect the Giants offense to surge next inning.

The Giants must lead the league in making scrub pitchers with 6.00 ERA's look like Cy Young.

MadBum 94 pitches through 6

Rogers only 64 pitches through 6

...and it seems to have been that way forever.

Your confidence in my ability to influence this putrid offense is deeply flawed. :L

You just watch. It worked once, it can happen.

Nice inning their from Ramirez. Come on Bullpen, get back on track.

Any of you notice CarGo's home/away splits?

I fear the Rockies are thinking, "we got right where we want them".

I would call that severe.
