I've got no problem with bringing him in there. He was throwing meatballs is the issue.

Agreed. It happens. Fitz was an enabler, and Hicks sucked.

Tyler Fitzgerald has a 162 wRC+ in 37 plate appearances against LHP this season. That is 33rd among hitters with at least 30 plate appearances against lefties, and leads the Giants by a comfortable margin. He probably needs to bat higher in the lineup in those matchups.
