I'm watching this replay on comcast right now.... Cousins launched himself at Posey. I'm pissed.

He pretty much said he tried to take out posey, once he saw that he had secured the ball.

to be fair, what do you expect Cousins to do, come in with a bouquet of flowers?

This is pro ball, and he had to break up the play. Catchers wear pads, runners dont. They HAVE to come in hard.

Bochy apparently, "said some things" when he got around the plate. That's when Cousins decided to walk away.

How about sliding for the plate? You don't take the catcher out if he's not blocking the plate. If you do, you're going to get some retribution.

agree

nothing wrong with playing hard - but he went for the headshot with arms out .. he didn't go for the plate

That's why it's important to make a distinction about where the catcher is positioned. Watch the replay. Cousins didn't even look at the plate - he went inside and launched himself at a vulnerable player. Different story if the catcher is blocking the plate, and/or waiting with the ball.

look at Ford's play at the plate from Sunday's game. He went in hard but went for the plate
