It wasn't hit as down the line as I initially thought it would be off the bat so Rivera was able to backhand it on the short hop and get it in quickly.

BTW: why doesn't Righetti get more credit? Even in the Bay Area, he is hardly mentioned as a key reason the Giants pitching continues to dominate.

He probably downplays his contribution. This whole coaching staff is understated.
