Its interesting how the addition of one hitter can make the lineup look a lot more formidable; at least on paper. I have to say though that Cabrera at the top is kind of a strange choice.

Yeah, 'looks' more. Beltran hasn't done squat since his arrival, here's hoping he's due.

And as sad as it is, who ELSE could you put batting first, given those 9 hitters?

We are completely leadoff-less.

And as sad as it is, who ELSE could you put batting first, given those 9 hitters?

We are completely leadoff-less.

I would go with Belt, or call up Craw and go with him. If you have no speed, go for nice ABs / OBP.

It may be a waste of Belts power to hit him lead off, but he sees a LOT of pitches. Better than anything else we can trot out there...

I think it is a good sign that Beltran is in there against a right hander; I believe they were worried about him hitting left handed. I assume he will be hitting right handed tonight. Good point about the leadoff spot.
