Game Thread -- Nebraska vs. Southern Miss

If you'll research it, you'll see that Oregon State gave up huge passing numbers also, but I believe Nebraska has better secondary athletes. Also, you can say what you want about Charlie Strong being a big time hire, but I sure can think of a few that would be more of big time hires. One or two assistant upgrades may eventually turn Nebraska into a power again, the same could be said about Bo's staff.

It's pretty obvious that the secondary looks even more confused than they did at the start of the season. Coaching maybe?

Why don't you research it and figure out whether Oregon State's passing defense was really that bad. Care to guess where they finished in the PAC last year?

A). Young players and confusion
B). Poor defensive scheming
C). Poor play -- Nate Gerry getting pwned often for example
D). Bad coaching of talented players, or
E). All of the above - a perfect storm so to speak?

Remember Pelini's first year here? How much his Defense struggled and then later on they just started getting better? In 2008 they were straight awful. 2009, best Defense ever.

My point is that it's a new coach, new system. I expect our pass D will get better as the year goes on.

D was on the field an awful lot in the 3rd. Set things up for a bad 4th when you got a thin D. Saw good things through 3 though.

Also it's good to see the all time biggest Diva in Aaron Green showing out for TCU.
