Yeah, Victarion is more of a standard swashbuckler. Show Euron is more in line with what Victaron would be. Only moreso.Mea culpa that I was confusing Aeron and Euron. But the rest is still accurate regarding Victarion.

so the final episode is going to be Dany sitting on the throne and the Iron Bank rolling up and being like "yo, the crown owes us this money. Fuck you, pay me"
and Dany drops her head into her hands and says,"fucking Cersei..."Dracarys.
fade out
I would say continuing a rampage beyond the group of people within the keep walls who were attacking her would be the unconscionably bad acts that should turn Jon against her.
Or maybe starting trials and executions of all the Lannister forces and their allies. Perhaps signalling that she intends to march on the North to ensure her control of the region and execute Sansa for insurrection.
Then he shouldn't have kicked ghost to the curb...Yep, going back north. He wants nothing of Westeros society.
He doesn't want to be a leader, and he's disgusted by what he saw the people he followed, and led, do in war.
There are ways to explain her flipping out and destroying large swaths of innocent city dwellers, and the show didn't try to do that.Yes. That was the whole point. She had to do something that would turn Jon against her. Otherwise we will never have the conflict. Even if Dany had simply charged Jon with treason, he likely would have accepted that punishment.
I think you might be engaging in unrealistic expectations of what the show can and can't do.

I don't understand her not going straight for the keep. That made no sense.

It was clear that Dany had hate in her heart. She hears the bells and realizes that the war is over and instead of just taking the crown, she chooses to go on a killing spread to satisfy her blood lust.
It's so many things, those bells...the mad king slaying, they rang the bells and then slaughtered all the Targaryans, including children. It was clear that Dany had hate in her heart. If only there were someone powerful enough to get inside the dragon's mind.....
I just don't think what happened explains that progression.I think the whole point is that she went mad. I actually can't blame her.
Spoiler
I hated the fact that they made it seem the hound lost both eyes and it was over for him one way or the other.
But then they should it was just one eye. And i thought ..holy shit he is going to make it and walk out with just one eye.
And they both end up going over anyway. Which I always figured they would both go down at the same time.
I just hated that they gave me a second of hope for the hound.
.
yeah. that was a leap and one i don't understand what drove that much insanity. it is a big FU to jon/aegon targaryen and i guess sets up the battle between the Dany and Sansa.
there are still several obvious ways to go. and a bunch more very crazy ways too.
1) a battle between the north and the south. one winner takes all. don't know how the north kills off a dragon though.
2) a truce born from a union between a stark and a targaryen. the obvious is jon/dany.
3) the night king is dead, but what about the children of the forest? a truce could piss off the CotF who create another night king (aegon or bran maybe?) who returns to the north to awaken when the time is right, another 1000 years or so from now.
there is still much to get done in one episode.
Arya still needs to take out green eyes and Cersei is gone.
On the flip side, I think it would be a cool ending for Dany to be the one.
actually this is the best excuse I have heard so far. It's so many things, those bells...the mad king slaying, they rang the bells and then slaughtered all the Targaryans, including children.
Combined with Robert meeting Rhaegar on the battle field, they rang the bells there as Dany's brother falls.
Pavlov's dog effect.
he was convenient for a time...but that's it.
the ending of this show reminds me too much of Sons of Anarchy right now. They are just racing to the finish line.
