I heard something the other day that HBO was missing some of it's A+ writers this season for GOT due to other obligations. So maybe that is why we got the season we did. Apparently all will be back for the final season..

Seems a bit odd that they would trust the B team with the most popular show on television.

Winterfell now knows about the undead dragon....Bran saw the Night King's attack on the Wall via warging through the birds.

Good thing Bran was sitting outside by the tree, and warging into the birds at the exact moment of the attack...great timing by Bran...hehe.

Oh yeah, forgot about the crows flying over at that time.

My prediction for the final season :

GoT fact : Rhaegar gave Lyanna the garland of blue roses after winning the tournament at Harrenhall
GoT fact : Sansa says "When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives", a quote attributed to Ned Stark
GoT fact : Wildling warg was killed by Jon, but warged into his bird and attacked Jon

Season 8, Episode 1 : Somebody, possibly Bran, recounts the story of the jousting tournament. Sansa heard this from Littlefinger. There should be other folks in the room that could have been there. Royce from the Vale? Maybe Howland Reed shows up with Meera to verify the Tower of Joy story and the tournament. Regardless, remember those blue roses as foreshadowing, a symbol of Rhaegar/Lyana's love.

Episodes 2-4 : yada yada yada, lots of stuff happens, Theon rescues Yara, the North loses some minor battles as they retreat to Winterfell for their last stand. Bran tells Sam he is going to try and stop the Night's King by warging into the dude that got turned by the Children of the Forest and attempting to convince the Children not to do this. But, hijinks ensue and Bran gets trapped in there, thus inadvertently becoming the Night's King.

Episode 5 : final battle with the Night's King; let's face it, Dany has no business on the ground, so she is only useful so long as she is riding her dragon; I'm guessing Jon is riding Rhaegal. They fight it out against undead Viserion. Undead Viserion is killed, knocking the Night's King off. But, Drogon is mortally wounded, but lands safely such that Dany can get off. Also possible that she falls in flight and Jon catches her, but that might be too cheesy. With Dany on the ground and Drogon dying, she is helpless. Jon remembers what Beric told him.... "Kill him. He turned them all." Before the undead close in on Dany, Jon dives at the Night's King. The Night's King throws a spear that mortally wounds Rhaegal. As they crash land, Jon leaps off at the Night's King. But, the Night's King has his icicle out and spears Jon. As Jon dies (again), he wargs into Ghost. As the undead get to Dany, Ghost bites off the head of the Night's King. Before anyone realizes what has happened, the undead army dissipates and Ghost runs off.

Episode 6 : The North picks up the pieces and makes their march towards Kings Landing. 20,000 fighters of the Golden Company await them. With depleted forces and maybe a surprise return of Daario, they just don't have enough to match up, especially with no dragons. Dany and the gang make their retreat back to Winterfell. When all is lost, a rumbling can be heard from the nearby forest. BAM! Final big battle action scene features Ghost and Nymeria leading a large pack of direwolves to run roughshod over the Golden Company armies.

Episode 7 : With her armies gone, Cersei holes herself up in her keep with the Moutnain and her newborn child (twins?). Theon and Yara take care of Euron. Cersei demands trial by combat. Dany obliges. Cleganebowl! The last battle of the series. Hound beats the Mountain. Cersei threatens to kill their child(ren), but Jaime stops her and strangles her in the process. Prophecy fulfilled. The closing scene is the coronation of Dany as the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. And the funeral of Jon Snow/Eggy Targaryean. Once Dany wears the crown and sits on the throne, there is a commotion at the great doors. It's Ghost. He walks up to Sansa, who is holding a garland of blue roses to place on Jon's body. Ghost grabs the garland and takes them to Dany. He sits at her feet, or maybe the baby has been born and sits right in front of the baby, protecting them, a loyal and humble servant. Queue the waterworks. Bittersweet ending, indeed.

Well done vid. Amazing how much when you listen to his words in Season 1, that Robert was calling how this was going to all play out. And how Ned spent his life protecting his nephew from Robert.

It does change the perspective of the series. You really get to see the weight Ned had to carry around for years.

Game of Thrones Season 7 finale left us confused about a number of things, but we’ve finally got a good answer to our question about what was going on with the Stark girls this year.

One of the most gratifying moments in all seven seasons of Game of Thrones was watching Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) list off a whole host of crimes to her sister Arya (Maisie Williams) and then turn coyly to Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen) and ask how he pled. Just when you thought she was going to execute her own sister, she flipped the script and came at Littlefinger with the very cunning grace he’d shown her how to wield.

Littlefinger had the gall to try to turn Sansa on her own sister, which is where he made a fatal mistake. We thought he’d succeeded until that final, pivotal moment when Arya slashed his throat and left him to die on the floor. But questions remained. Was Sansa just playing Littlefinger the whole time? Was Arya in on it since her return to Winterfell? How did Bran get involved? Did the Stark sisters nearly kill each other?

According to Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who plays Bran Stark in the show, Sansa’s storyline was not as manipulative as all that -- she really did fall under Littlefinger’s thrall and came dangerously close to killing Arya. We just couldn’t tell because the scene explaining all that was cut from the finale.

"We actually did a scene that clearly got cut, a short scene with Sansa where she knocks on Bran’s door and says, ‘I need your help,’ or something along those lines," Hempstead-Wright told Variety. "So basically, as far as I know, the story was that it suddenly occurred to Sansa that she had a huge CCTV department at her discretion and it might be a good idea to check with him first before she guts her own sister. So she goes to Bran, and Bran tells her everything she needs to know, and she’s like, ‘Oh, s---.’"

It’s definitely hilarious to hear Hempstead-Wright compare his character to a Westerosi CCTV system, but it’s even more hilarious that it’s kind of true.

Still, it clears up any doubts that Sansa and Arya were playing Littlefinger the whole time, faking their squabbles and tension in order to lull him into a false sense of security. It would have been nice to think they’d become partners in crime so quickly, but it definitely makes more narrative sense this way. After spending six difficult years apart and growing up under extreme conditions, there would obviously be a brief period of time for someone to drive a wedge between them before the bonds of family snapped them irrevocably back together.

Which makes you wonder why they felt the need to cut that scene. I guess they felt the shock value was better? And B&W clearly don't like retrospective scenes so they wouldn't show it after the trial. But still that was some exposition that would have been useful.

I like it. But I think you may have 1 too many episodes. I believe they are only doing 6 next season.

Subtract 1 from 5, 6, and 7.
Episodes 2-4 are condensed to 2-3 and all is well.

Just need to figure out if Bran can warg into a dragon before he becomes the Night's King....

During some press this week, GOT confirmed each episode of the final season will be at least 80 min or longer basically turning each one into a feature length film by time. Some could be well over 90+ minutes.
