Not sure what you are meaning...

Ramsay did torture Theon. Even worse in the books.

Book Jeyne/Talisa survives with the child, which would throw quite the monkeywrench into things.

The Hound and Brienne do fight in the books.

You'll note that I said scenes with Ramsay torturing Theon. Of course books don't have "scenes" but I'm sure you can figure out what I mean. We get Ramsay capturing Theon in Book 2 and then the next few books we only hear other characters mention Theon but don't actually see him again until Book 5 when he's been transformed into Reek.

Yes in addition to having a different name and backstory, Robb's book wife also has a different fate. It's unclear to me what point you are making by mentioning that as it relates to my comment though. I was responding to someone that was suggesting that Talisa was some sort of epic fail on the show, comparable to the Dorne storyline. That poster didn't go into detail but I didn't get the impression that they were referring to the fact that she died on the show but lived in the books (which I would probably still question if that's what I thought was meant). It just seemed like he/she had a problem in general with the character. The changes and the character herself were pretty insignificant in my opinion. The fact that Robb broke his oath and married someone else is what mostly mattered. The fact that she was the daughter of a Lannister bannerman was kind of interesting but I'm not sure that it was all that critical.

I don't remember The Hound and Brienne fighting at all in the books. Not saying it didn't happen as I certainly don't have them memorized, but I just don't remember it happening.

Cousin vs. Aunt. Interesting question.

Well Targaryens commonly married among siblings, cousins, etc. Hence you get peeps like the Mad King.

Likewise.

And I frequent used book stores too.

I like to hold a book.

And of course I don't have a phone.
the gf has a Paperwhite that is pretty nice, but I agree about holding a book. I would consider a Paperwhite though. Would make packing for travel lighter.

I prefer actual books too but it's just too handy to always have a book with you on your phone. Doctor's office, waiting on a kid, etc. I read A LOT more since I always have it with me too. Which is kind of expensive. I probably spend $50 a month downloading books lol.

I highly recommend a paperwhite.

I'm an avid reader and I too like the feel of holding a book and swore for years that I wouldn't get a tablet reader (nook, etc), but my wife got me a paperwhite as a gift and I LOVE it.

I like being a Luddite with a real book in my hands.

Everybody else flicking their phone screens or whatever, me turning pages sitting on the ferry.

if you read the books, the Dorne story is also a total waste...following the moron prince around only to have him turned into dragon hor d'oeuvres. I could have done without the extra pages, personally.

Now I DO hope the Jon Connington story pans out. I like the Young Griff arc a lot.

Was this certain? I don't recall this happening and thought he was still alive for some reason. I was still hoping he shows up. It's been several years since I read that book however.

I just watched the season premiere again when I realized that arguably the 3 best male actors still alive on the show (Tyrion, Davos, Theon) combined for exactly zero lines that episode.

Look for best of collections on the Kindle Store. They have a handful that are like $1 for 50 classics and that's plenty of reading for not much.

I may not read the books unless RR finishes them. I fell into that trap with the, "Wheel of Time" Series.

The only problem i had with 7:1 was the dialog and tone of some characters seemed different somehow. Without the books as a source for how the characters put their Words together might be what i am meaning, its hard to narrow Down... just seemed watered down.

Tormund's acting when he was checking out Brienne more than makes up for that
