Mike White has a lot more potential than Cooper Rush. Not even close

So we are a turn over machine it seems. First one was bad and then they got worse. WTF loosing the ball in mid-air and no one touched it? I get the fact he was being flipped over but you still hang on to that ball.

At least I got to see one of my favorite players ever that is not a Cowboy being interviewed. Larry Fitzgerald is all kinds of awesome.

Not impressed with backup safety - Huff
He was horrible. Huge open field whiffs on both big gainers.

I've kind of changed my mind. I'm now hoping we just go Frazier and Heath until Woods is ready. Gives us good run support and if our corners play well they don't need the deep help as much. If our pass rush continues that should be a huge help for the pass defense too

I really like White. I think the question becomes do we think he can be the backup right now if something were to happen.

So let's count them. 2 fumbles by Lenoir on PRs but he won't be the punt returner
Backup QBs 4 turnovers but they won't be playing.
So for the guys that will play we had a fumble by Jarwin that was ripped out pretty good and a fluky p[lay by Rod Smith. Neither should have fumbled of course but not sure either was a "red flag"

I saw a lot to like last night. First team defense was pretty good without Lee. Pass rush did well. Run defense was strong while our first group was in there. Our starting OL, which was pretty much backups did OK against their first team defense. WRs didn't quite impress me, but could have been the QB play. White did pretty well considering the field position he had. Lewis made a couple plays. Starting CBs were good. I don't remember really seeing Brown. Safety is a problem. Looney has played well all preseason. Two misses by Gallup and Rico that could have been nice plays. TEs look like they may get a lot of 5 to 8 yard balls their way this year. Chaz Green...even Collingsworth felt bad for him. But hey, at least he jumps on those fumbles after he lets his guy get a clean shot at the QB:noidea:

I would cut Rush, sign a vet backup and keep White as #3. I don't think he would make it to PS.

We finally look like we have a great pass rush since the 90's. This will cure alot of ills on defense. Happy with the first team defense.!!!

Our starters are as talented as any 22 in the NFL. Depth at DLine, WR, LB. It just seems all of our injuries are on the OL and DB's, where we are thin

I say cut Rush, Keep white & just bite the bullet if Dak gets injured.
No matter who our back up this year, we will be screwed if our Starter gets injured. Vet back up isnt gonna help us much either. Let White learn as our #2.

Definitely Lewis best night in a while. I think I counted 3 tackles made before the sticks on 3rd down. Awuzie was awesome. Jones really didn’t get tested much. Awuzie looks like a Pro Bowler though. Frazier made the play that he was injured on but kind of gave up a few extra yards on a tackle once. Brown - not sure where he was at.
These LBs are impressive. I’m not sure how many they keep. Covington mixed it up some last night. He brought a load when he hit.
The Dline - it is starting to sort out some. I’m starting to believe the guy we got from the Raiders is not going to make it.
Offense - too hard to judge from last night. I was hoping to see Thompson do something last night. Not sure he ever got on the field. I didn’t think Bo looked real good. The QBs - I really wanted to see White go down field a little more. He has to protect the ball better when he gets hit too but that will come. As bad as it looked like Rush played-?obviously the INTs were big, but I have seen people saying he missed a wide open Beasley. If they are going to harp on that, Gallup should have caught the bomb he threw too. Overall, just a bad night for the offense.

I think it can be the best defense we have had since the 90s. I was iffy on Earl Thomas because I didn’t know how good we could be. I mean if we are a 6-10 team then no we don’t need him. I don’t think we are 6-10 though.

I was fine with that trade and still am (even if he doesn't make the team - I think he will), but last night might have gone better with Switzer back there...

It appears Switzer has been traded to Pittsburgh.

I didn’t see Ward playing last night so I assumed he had fallen out of the rotation. Maybe not then.

I like Mike White, but man, the guy needs to learn to get rid of the ball faster. At this point I'd rather keep White over Rush long term. My guess is they keep both this year because I don't think you can put Mike White in an actual game right now. A team with a good defense might survive a game or two with Cooper Rush at QB, not so much with Mike White...at least for now.

I think if White had to go in with the 1's...Zeke, great OL, all that...he would be killer in play action and fine in shotgun. He can zing it. Like you said, he's gotta learn to get the ball out, but it's a lot easier to teach that than to teach a below average arm into being above average

White looked good enough against 3rd stringers with no game plan thrown at him. I think if you had to put White in a regular season game against an actual first team defense it wouldn't turn out so well. IMO he has a long way to go before I can see him out there directing traffic and reading defenses on the fly when it really matters. White's got a nice arm, for sure. Just not ready for consumption yet - "it's not ripe".

Cooper Rush has a terrible arm, I honestly think it looks worse than last year. That said, he knows what he is doing at the line of scrimmage and can direct traffic out there. Rush knows where to go with the ball, he just has a hard time getting it there. He looked much better in preseason last year, IMO throwing with a lot more touch than he has shown this preseason.
