Game 1 Lineup

Now that the TBR's have anounced their game starter in LHP Matt Moore, which one of our hitters impotent against LHPs gets the call to play? Murphy, Moreland, or Torrealba (Torrealba fared the best against the LHPs), or do they put in Treanor to be CJs catcher?

Personally I'd go with Gentry or Chavez in CF (probably Gentry), and Treanor at catcher

This is either brilliant or a disaster in the making for the Rays. Wouldn't be surprised if the Rangers struggle through the first three innings and then launch off of the kid in 4 or 5. The Rangers have to take this game.

Agreed, but the Rangers should win this game. They have the better offense and a playoff proven starter.

As much as CJ might like Treanor he's simply the backup on this roster.

according to Rule 40a: To be eligible for a team***8217;s playoff roster a player must be on any of the following: (a) the 25 man active roster, (b) the disabled list, (c) the bereavement list, or (d) the suspended list as of August 31 at midnight[citation needed]. The only exception is that a player on the 60-day disabled list may be replaced by another player from the team's 40-man roster (as of August 31) who plays the same position (i.e. position player for position player, or pitcher for pitcher), with the approval of the commissioner of baseball.

Moore does not meet any of these requirements

Wow. Wash either doesn't trust Napoli's defense at first or cj doesn't like torrealba behind the plate.

He's on the roster because of injury. The Rays have decided to put a non-key player on the DL to make room for Moore. Not sure who that player is.

That's what the rule says ... but teams routinely get a waiver to it and replace whoever they want who is "injured" with whoever they pretty much want.

There really isn't a 15day DL once you get to September ... but players can be injured. In TEX case ... Estaban German who was not playoff eligible is on the roster as an injury sub for either Darren ODay (with a waiver) or Adres Blanco.
