Gabe Vilardi Debut Tonight

Honestly thought maybe this dude would never play in the NHL. But rehabbed for over a year and started playing some Reign games. Tonight he is in the lineup at Staples. Not expecting anything, but a the time, they said he was a top 5 guy who happened to fall to LA. So it begins, new faces in the lineup.

I guess I wasn't paying attention, but Mclellan complaining about schedule, and he actually has a point. Kings have only had one homestand of consecutive games once since Thanksgiving. So now they play 5 at home, one in Vegas, and then 9 more at home coming up. Basically a 14 game homestand.

Well, speaking of Blake, GV is his first pick (11th overall) after becoming GM. I agree you can't expect anything from him right away. I also looked at Blake's picks '17,'18 & '19 and they weren't that bad. His trades and signings are a different story.

1st star. Goal and an assist and he went 13 of 16 on faceoffs. Also, they said Frk now has 5 goals in his first 8 games as a King.

The goal should have been saved but who cares. I was more impressed with the assist. Great awareness and great finish by FRK.

Hi play along the boards was pretty good and he made a few hardly noticeable passes that were very impressive.

You're probably right. Goal was little soft. Def just like that he shot it. For sure agree on the assist. He's a big dude and won a few battles on the boards to create that whole play. When he got it back, the pass was a beaut as well. I love the faceoffs to be honest. Increases offensive opportunities and limits defensive ones, so I feel it's so underrated. Great start.

There just seemed to be more energy from several guys out there, not just Vilardi.

You would think the injection of youth especially lately would add some life to the team.

In all honesty, this year has not been as bad as I expected. When you think about the first couple of weeks, I thought they were going to get blown out every game. It looked pretty bleak. I havent watched every game, but from what I have seen, they have been in most of the games. As you mentioned, they just have to learn how to hold leads.
