On a further note about rider legislation... I'm sick of it. The federal Gov't never gets any real work done because they have to continually go back and debate items of legislation that have SFA to do with the original piece of legislation.

... I dont get what you are saying. I mean my money should not be wasted on other people's birth control, abortions and whatever else.

First of all, I wouldn't consider that money wasted. I would consider it money well spent if it prevents people from having children that they can't afford.

Second, What you were saying was that if you can't afford insurance, then there should be no services provided for you if you got pregnant. You seem to think that people just get pregnant because they're not being careful. Let's not forget that you can use condoms and oral contraceptives correctly and still get pregnant. You can get raped and still get pregnant. You could be with a partner who has a vasectomy and still get pregnant. The only way to be 100 % sure that you won't get pregnant when you can't afford an abortion or to raise the child is to stay completely sex-free (and also don't get raped if you can help it).

What the Congress needs to do is put together a budget that isn't filled with riders. Make a God Damn budget and leave the political debate for another day. They're out of time.

Its sad that each side is out to fuck the other one over constantly. The deciding panel should be all independents to filter through the nonsense. to just keep the bullshit rolling is ridiculous... Solve the fucking issues at hand, and worry about their nitpicking later.

It's why they need to remove rider legislation. Each side tries to stick it to the other by forcing through little victories for their party by attaching rider legislation to bills that have NOTHING to do with the original piece of legislation.

r*pe is different, in this case the abortion should be paid by the gov't, and then repaid back to the gov't by the offender.

And yes, over population is a big problem, but it should not be regulated by tax money. People should be reponsible for what they do regardless if it is an accident or not.

From your article:

The vast majority of people who escape federal income taxes still pay other taxes, including federal payroll taxes that fund Social Security and Medicare, and excise taxes on gasoline, aviation, alcohol and cigarettes. Many also pay state or local taxes on sales, income and property.

I pay all those as well... Why should one person be responsible for a tax and another exempt? Plus I didnt read the article I just pasted the article form a google search.

Yeah, they pay sales taxes, etc. They still do not pay federal income taxes which the main taxes normal people pay. It's bullshit.

And in the cases where the rapist is never found? Or when they are imprisoned and are not only not making any money but essentially living off government money in prison?

Then the person should have to make payments... nothing is free for me in life, why should it be for anyone else?

Ok. I'm all done. I am going to get really irritated in a sec. No more from me (I hope). Let's kiss and make up, Jeff.

that was an interesting read

Im gonna go tangent for the cdn posters on here

everyone catch the Harper PC campaign promise to double the annual max for TFSA from 5k to 10k?

i will probably vote PC and I am personally excited about this decision and will definitely take advantage of it

HOWEVER

I feel the left wing part of my conscience asking me how the fuck is this a good policy move for the nation ... how is the federal government going to fund our social services. I read yesterday that the market value of TFSA's across canada is up to 17.2 BILLION. These dollars are now out of the tax system.

This policy started out as a supposed attempt to motivate cdns of lower income levels to save money. YAH RIGHT. What person living at the poverty level is going to save 10k per year.

We shut that down before anyone even got the chance to post a popcorn gif.

Man, I should not discuss these things. I am all flushed now. You have to understand though, I RARELY find anyone who doesn't agree with me on things like this. With the exception of my father.
