Garbage stats... McCoy could've done that.. meh
2017 NFL Player Passing Stats - National Football League - ESPN
BTW - We are a little past the 1/4 mark of the NFL season. Let's review Cousins in terms of how he fares thus far in comparison w/ other NFL QBs since he is deemed middle of the pack & not franchise QB worthy by many.
Brady, Rodgers & Brees still rule in this area & thus far this year Alex Smith & perhaps Deshuan Watson have joined them (hard to tell for rookies since things can change as the season progresses). Cousins has not done too bad & should certainly at least be in the top 10 for QBs thus far.
At this pt he is certainly playing better than supposed franchise QBs like Eli, Big Ben, Matt Ryan & Rivers as well as up & comers like Winston & Mariota (due to injuries). He still has to prove that he can win the big games (did all he could in KC but they lost due to others). He will get his chance in a few weeks vs the Eagles. We will see.
Keep in mind, most of these guys have played one more game too.
No - good pt. That list initially is sorted by Total yds & might give someone the impression that Cousins is way down the list in terms of NFL QBs. Click on the Rating column on the far rt & then Cousins shows up as the 4th best NFL QB & in some pretty elite company. Will this last - who knows?
Forget stats since those can be misleading (especially early in the season). The eye test thus far should lead most to believe that Cousins certainly is at least in the top 10 of NFL QBs. Perhaps he is not a Brady, Rodgers or Brees at this pt., but he is certainly as deserving as guys like Stafford or Carr for a big contract.

If you don't mind,....how do you rate him within the division? Obviously, Headlights Manning ranks last, but I would be interested to see (read) how you see him vs. Prescott and Wentz at this point in the season. Thanks!

i think KC hate had a lot to do with that . saying the wrs carried him was just another excuse not to sign himI like the way Kirk has trended this year. Much more than last year at this point in the season. From a W/L perspective nothing is different, but there have been changes from last year.
After 4 games last year KC had chucked 151 passes/37.75 per game compared to 121/30.25 per game this year.
In 2016 at this point he had 6TDs/4INTs. This year he has 7TDs/1INTs.
Last year after 4 games 1172 pass yards/7.7ypa. This year 1004 pass yards/8.3 ypa.
His 66.1% comp% this year is on point and was 66,2% last year after 4 games. But I believe his accuracy is better now than it was last year.
All this made all the more impressive considering the hit the pass catching unit has endured losing PG/Djax as well as JC's ineffectiveness thus far this year. In part because of the FA losses and injuries, possibly to JC and to for certain to Reed.
NOTE: I saw the posts calling out posters who claimed our pass catchers made KC what he was last year. I think that was started over something I posted which was. The pass catchers we had including Jordan Reed and what turned to be a nice addition in Vernon Davis who supplemented the group even more. Was the strongest unit on the team last year. Did that benefit KC? How could it not, but I didn't say it made KC what he was last year.
I hope that's cleared up, but if not feel free to get at me. Now onward.......
Aside from the INT in the Philly game. I think Kirk's had a damn good year. We still need to get better in the red zone. If Kurt hits that pass to JC and Kelley runs the play as it was designed. We could be 4-0 or 3-1 now. 2 plays away from beating what are generally considered 2 of the better teams if not the best teams in the NFL.
I see improvement all across the board for the squad, lingering issues, among them 3rd dn defense, has got to . rove still as well. Right now I feel good about the Skins, but they need to ready to play come Sunday. Its a big game for the Skins, a good trap game as well. Here's to coming out strong and avoiding any let downs or looking beyond Frisco this week.

i dont consider you a hater though even when our opinions were different . the others just straight up hated , you brought up points on both sides of the issueI've never hated Kirk. Hell, after dealing with the primadonna that was Griffin. Kirk was like a breath of fresh air. Plus while I know there are peeps who say I knew Cuz could do it all along and some of them are even telling the truth. For the most part it seems Kirk has had to prove doubters wrong at every level, and I was a doubter for sure.
Far as signing him. I said it before, If he balls out this year the Cuz nut huggers are gonna have to make room for me on the sack cuz I'll be holloerin 'Pay the man!' right along with y'all.
So far he's off to a very good start. If he maintains it or improves upon it. Even if the Skins don't make the playoffs. I see it as less n less likely that Snyder won't pay Cousins, even if in his heart of hearts he doesn't want to. It would be too risky of a business decision to not sign him.
