2 - meh

My season usually ends after my team finishes their bowl game.

Wow that must be rough having never watched a national championship game. You've missed some good ones.

The last two that OU was in bored me to tears...

Lets think about this. OU shouldn't have beaten Oklahoma State, especially in Stillwater. OU has so many starters with injuries that it barely resembles the same team from day one. Hell OU from week 4 had a better chance than now. Here's how I see it, right now OU could lose to just about anyone who resembles a decent team. If Bama loses to the Sooners, in my mind this would be bigger than Utah. This is NOT a good OU team and with all the injuries and players being booted off there's no reason why Bama should't win handily. Either way, I'm excited to play Bama, anything can happen.

Yea they look better since day one! :laugh3: Any team that can beat OSU at Stillwater can hold their own and eliminates an upset greater than the sinking of the Titanic! Not even close!

false.

auburn has beaten more great teams in the last 7 years than ohio state has in the last 40.

in a few weeks, auburn may end up having twice as many national titles in the last 4 years as ohio state has in the last 40.

winning the big 10 is easy. ohio state doing it so often proves it. because they've proven they aren't an elite program when they face the best of the best.

Sakau

You can go throughout these boards yelling high from the mountain top how great a program Auburn is and try to compare recent numbers to other greats and you will never convince anyone Auburn belongs anywhere near the top tier. You want to know why? Because Auburn does well then falls off the map for 5 or 6 years then has a few decent years then nothing for another 5 or 6. Plus you have so many average 8-4 type years or weak ass 9-3 years and you think these are good. :L

Example: you try to act like Auburn is a super team since 2001. Lets look at that:

2001 7-5
2002 9-4
2003 8-5
2004 13-0
2005 9-3
2006 11-2
2007 9-4
2008 5-7
2009 8-5
2010 14-0
2011 8-5
2012 3-9

Alabama
2008 12-2
2009 14-0
2010 10-3
2011 12-1
2012 13-1
2013 11-1

Y'all never ever put together streaks like Alabama or the top teams. It's to be expected teams will have down years but the top teams have done this with regularity throughout their history. 9 wins these days are just ok especially when you consider they are usually coupled with 4 losses. From 2000 through 2007 when you were beating Alabama a lot you had a chance to gain some ground but couldn't. Beside barely winning the Iron Bowl those years you had one great year, one good year and 5 average or worse years. Since 1970 Auburn has NEVER beaten Alabama by more than 10 points. Alabama has blown Auburn out many times! Recently as 49-0, 42-14 and 36-0! Keep trying to brag on Auburn but no one's listening! :suds:

The last one A&M was in...uh wait, when was it again?

Hitler was whacking it in prison, that's the last time. Then again, Aggy did just add a couple of phantom NC's from 90 years ago when they entered the SEC so their trophy cabinet didn't look so empty.....:L

Last years cotton bowl was enough to keep me happy for a while. Unlike some fan bases that live in the past and wave around old championships and all time records to cover up their recent mediocrity. I like to focus on the here and now. Good season last year, picked cotton, a little disappointed with 8-4 but we got a good coach that is building a strong program. Future is bright.

that's great and all... but lol @ the never beating alabama by more than 10 points. who cares? did anyone who watched the 2005 game actually think alabama was ever in it? it was 21-0 in the first quarter and alabama never really got into the game. so they scored a garbage touchdown late in the game against reserves. who cares? i guess those who like that "streak".

in the iron bowl, alabama has 42 wins, auburn has 35. pretty even when you get right down to it. Auburn has the edge over the last 10 years, over the last 20 years, and over the last 30 years. And most importantly, this year.

Aubie math 42=35

:laugh3:

i said relatively equal. alabama has won less than 55% of the games played between them.

that's a lot more equal than alabama fans would make you believe.

Other then the last 10 where y'all won 6 in a row close games over a one handed 28 sholarship less Alabama team, the past 20 and 30 years are basically dead even but again we have kicked your ass and y'all have pulled shit out of yours to win.

Also, you pick one game since 1970 and say it wasn't as close as the score because it was 10 points or less? Seriously? :laugh3: That's your rebuttal? :laugh3:

That's only because Auburn won the majority of them damn 1902 games or something and the fact we didn't play for nearly 40 years from 1907 to 1947 when Alabama would have dominated them! Right little brother?

Alabama was winning 24-0 in 2010. Does that mean the game was over? All right, we got us another!

you say you would have dominated, but how are we supposed to know.

aren't we in the midst of one of the greatest runs in alabama history if not the greatest and alabama has managed 3 of the last 5? 4 of the last 10? not exactly running auburn over in the series.

but hey, if winning hypothetical matches in leather helmet days makes you feel better about the kick six, then more power to you. whatever helps you sleep at night/prevents you from putting your balls in someone's face/killing wildlife/killing people...

if auburn had never seriously threatened to comeback, then yeah. if auburn scored a garbage touchdown in the closing minutes against reserves to close the game to a 10 point loss, i wouldn't feel any better about it, or think the team accomplished anything more.

Auburn won 7 of the first 9 games played. 1893 to 1904. Nice head start! I remember that damn 1894 game. We should have won. :laugh3:

3 out of 5? So it was 3 out of 4 until this year and would have been 4 out of 4 without your great comeback? Please remember you won 6 in a row during the time you seem to want to include in our "great run" but we were only down 28 scholarships at that time. Seems to me Alabama has recovered nicely and will continue that trend! Again, we kick your ass and you pull off miracles on us. We will be stretching that margin wider over the next several years. Promise!

i remember after 2008 that was promised and the gap really hasn't widened by much. and when exactly do you want to start counting the games? auburn has the edge over the last 10, 20, and 30 year timeframes.

and yes, 3 out of 5. and yes, it was 3 out of 4 until this year. but (hang on a second (lol) let me check my calendar... yep, this year happened). and would have been 4 out of 4 without a great comeback. but the comeback happened, right? alabama came from 14 down in 2009 in case you forgot. i don't credit auburn with a win there.

alabama has recovered nicely, but during this dynastic run, auburn has reached 2 BCS title games themselves. not too shabby. you have to admit so yourself.

and incidentally, this year's game was no miracle. the game was incredibly competitive, and alabama just made too many mistakes, mainly in the kicking game. the fact the game was won on an incredibly rare play does not make it a miracle. the georgia play was much more of a "miracle" than the alabama play. and both will go down in the books as wins. just as alabama's "miracle" 50some yard odd field goal by van tiffin in the 80s did the same... and just as auburn's boneheaded coaching decision in one of the games in the 80s where they got stuffed on 4th down when they just needed a FG to go ahead (sounds similar to this year's game actually) will go down as a win for alabama.

it's been a great series. i've got a ton of respect for alabama, nick saban, their team, and their program. but this year was auburn's year. they have a quality team and though some alabama fans may think they'd win the game all 9 times if they played 9 more, i think that's being a bit disrespectful to just how good auburn's run game has come and how big their defense has come up in big moments. only surrendering 7 points to alabama in the final 30some odd minutes of that game is quite an accomplishment... especially when the 7 points came on a 99 yard pass play. it wasn't busted coverage, but it was certainly a busted tackle when the auburn safety ran into the auburn cornerback. not an excuse at all. just a missed play. similar to mark barron missing the play in 2010 that went for a long TD.
