"The Florida Times Union expects the Jaguars to decline LT Luke Joeckel's fifth-year option because it will make him easier to trade.

Joeckel became expendable when the Jaguars signed Kelvin Beachum to a one-year deal with a four-year option. Joeckel's trade value is at an all-time low, but the Jags will hope to get something for him before he inevitably leaves in free agency. If the Jags were to pick up Joeckel's option, there would be incentive not to play him as his 2017 salary would be fully guaranteed if he got hurt."- Rotoworld

The Packers never do anything in free agency they use the money to re-sign players they drafted even if they aren't probowlers they know the system and they come cheaper than free agents. Thats the way to build a team when your city isn't the most attractive place to play.

Yes! Conditional late round pick. Let him compete for the RT spot.

I haven't seen him play, but he has to be better than Ola or whoever our RT is at this point

I have seen him play. He may not be, but at least he is still young and has potential. We will certainly need the depth, especially if Reiff is not extended.

It's the best free agency the Lions have had this millennium. Didn't overpay a bunch of over the hill crap.

Many say we overpayed for Marvin Jones. We paid a #2/3 receiver #1 money. And while he's not over the hill, he's injury prone. He missed the entire 2014 season with foot/ankle problems. If Mayhew had signed him to that contract, there would have been an outcry.

I like Jones, though, and am glad we signed him. But just saying.

I wanted Sanu. At least he stays on the field.

He's the #16 overall in terms of salary per season. Right above D. Jackson, Torry Smith, Eric Decker, Victor Cruz and Golden Tate.

That's not too outrageous when he was head and shoulders above the other WR's in this free agent market and a lot of teams had tons of cap space.

Expect a lot of former AFC East players to fill the depth. Signed some guy from the Jets too.

Geoff Schwartz - G - Lions
Lions signed RT Geoff Schwartz, formerly of the Giants, to a one-year contract.

Schwartz can play both guard and tackle, but figures to step in at right tackle in Detroit if he can beat out Michael Ola. Last year's first-rounder Laken Tomlinson is locked in at left guard, while 2013 third-rounder Larry Warford mans right guard. Schwartz, 30 in July, needs to prove he can stay healthy after missing 19 starts in New York. If so, he's a very solid signing.

Pretty decent addition if he can stay healthy.

I will be happy to see the competition between them. That, and not seeing Joique Bell. Really didn't notice Burton being used much with JBC. So when knows what they carry this year?

He used him against the Saints for a TD. I only notice cause that particular play crushed my fantasy season last year in our big money league.

Only if the injury was career ending. Ridley's on a one year prove it. The competition is useful.

I always liked Ridley outside of the fumbles. Not sure how explosive he will still be after knee surgery.
