Like I said all year that defense Denver had last year wasnt capable of winning a SuperBowl and now with the moves the Broncos made gives them a better shot of getting there and winning the whole damn thing. They still need to address the MLB situation and get another CB. Then its time to get another RB and WR by FA or in the draft unless obviously if Decker were to return. So far so good.

According to Legwold the Broncos have right around $10 million in Cap Space left and that is before possibly cutting Dressen and Tamme. So could be looking at $15 million still left. Yes some of that will be saved for the Draft picks and some will be saved in case of injury needing to bring somebody back in plus the Broncos like to keep some for Roll Over money but Broncos could still make a couple more signings this off season.

Does that include the $4.3 MM Denver would need to sign rookies?

Actually this is misleading of how much they have to put aside for the Draft. Because they only include the top 51 contracts the Broncos actually would only need to put aside about $1 million for the draft picks because you have to subtract the contracts in the top 51 that they would be replacing.

Does anyone know if we r looking at j.thomas and d. Thomas to not let them hit fa next year.. When do u all see this happening.. not a fan of franchising either of them.. would like to lock them up

Denvers not done in the FA mode yet. They`ll wait till smoke clears now and add some viable players to help with depth ( G,rb) and that`s about it. Come draft, I expect to see 0-line,wr,and lb addressed. If Elway is still on a roll, you might see Denver move up to grab a lb they might really covet. That would fill a big need and with aquistions in Fa and healthy guys coming back....Lookin good.

Going to bed tonight so will try to show you the data for tomorrow. Essentially you look at what the bronco draftee is going to make then whoever was in that 51st spot subtract their contract from that of the draftee too see what the difference is and then subtract that from our cap. Since only 51 contracts actually count against the cap you have to bump somebody down the list to add somebody.

The fact that we all knew it was coming, coupled with locking up Caldwell for the next two years makes this a little easier to deal with. Personally I was hoping he'd land with the Colts or Redskins, two other teams that needed WR help. I wonder if he went with the Jets because of his reality show? Do you think he has a ratings boost in mind?
