Have to agree with Wiz. Seems like the site is just throwing everything at the wall and seeing what if anything sticks.

I'd like to see the Eagles bring in Roy Helu ... I think he'd be a good fit in the committee system Chip is looking for. Only 26 years old and very little tread on the tires.

He is a down hill runner so I'd be fine with that.

I actually like Helu too….but I hear he struggles a good deal in pass protection.

The total guaranteed money is not bad. It looks like a couple inflated base salary years tacked on at the end. Probably a 4 year deal in reality.

I am not a Maxwell fan at all, but probably not a bad deal.

Sounds about what I expected ... he and Orlando Franklin would be a very strong start. Pretty sure they're not going to have enough for McCourty unless they don't bring back Maclin. I like Rahim Moore a lot as well although the Birds haven't been linked to him yet.

If we get priced out of the Worilds sweepstakes we could be looking at Brooks Reed or Brian Orakpo.

To me that is overpaying, but I am not surprised that is what Maxwell would command. We will have to see if someone offers more.

RE: Maxwell... We have to remember that when Richard Sherman was NOT grown at, Maxwell was.

The Ravens are a much more conservative/traditional Offense ... I think if Torrey were in this Offense he'd have much better production. Even then, Smith had 11 TD's to Maclin's 10 last season.

I can see your thinking on T.Smith. I made the same case last year for Emmanuel Sanders over Maclin, even saying I thought Sanders was the better overall talent regardless of the stats. Playing opposite to Antonio Brown who get's most the action by design and elite talent. If for some reason we can't come to terms with Maclin, then there's not many choices left. Torrey Smith is the best remaining -- he's been very inconsistent, but so was Maclin his first 4 years before exploding in our offense. Though, I still feel Maclin took some major steps forward in his development…could be the coaching staff here and the amount of repetitions that helped him grow. As for T.Smith, he has flashed impressive ability at times -- and it's obvious he can definitely go vertical to take the top off a defense.

If Maclin is a goner….and I hope not…Then T.Smith or Cecil Shorts are the guys who make the most sense. Shorts could be a fun player for a Chip Kelly offense, very good YAC ability and has great quickness and lateral agility -- good space player that can play outside and inside. I think the two biggest knocks against Shorts are nagging injuries and loss of focus on some passes that lead to drops.

Sucks you can't edit a post but I guess we can all figure out auto corrects by now. Maxwell is a slight overpay but he was the best available. It will probably be bargain $$ in 3 years if he plays like a 1.
