Upgrade over the current situation? Sure. Upgrade over last year's secondary? I'm not so sure. Goldson is markedly better than Woodson at this point IMO. Jury is still out on how much better Asomugha would be than our other corners, if at all.

I'm giving Woodson a pass on last season. It was his first at FS and he broke his collarbone. I'm thinking the brass feels the same way.

Aso we gotta hope was on a shit D with shit coaching and wasn't allowed to play his style otherwise he will blow.

it certainly would make us deeper and if we draft a guy like Reid, I think it puts us in a better situation. If we were this deep last year we could've benched Whitner when we was struggling so much. It'll definitely be rough not having Goldson and his great run support/tackling from the FS spot, but I won't miss his inconsistent coverage skills or his dumb late hit penalties.

Kolb made about $22 million over the last two years, was due another $11 mil. this year if he stayed with the team. No doubt they got tired of signing his checks. Horrible contract and deal overall for AZ, obviously.

But with Rodgers-Cromartie a free agent this year, trading him + the 51st pick in 2012 (Jerel Worthy), maybe they really didn't give up all that much for him in the trade.
