PFT:

Early word in league circles on the Sean Smith contract: $5 million average, same as Derek Cox. Trying to confirm.

Quintin Mikell - DB - Free Agent

The Rams have not ruled out bringing back recently released SS Quintin Mikell.
Mikell was released over the weekend. He was due $6 million in 2013, and it's unsure if the Rams even approached him about taking a pay cut. Mikell shouldn't lack for suitors, so a return to the Rams on a cheaper deal would likely be last resort. The Rams made an offer to free agent S Louis Delmas on Wednesday, but he skipped town.

Ian Rapoport:

On Jonathane Fanene: He lied during a pre-signing physical "failing to disclose his regular use and need for painkilling medication to play"

Yikes. I wonder how often this happens.

Man, the Chiefs are doing a lot. It'll practically be a whole new look on the field. I hope they get the Alex Smith we had the last two years... mmmmmm... conditional draft pick..... mmmm another 2nd round pick would be awesome.

have the conditions been leaked at all? I'm guessing the pick will be somewhere between picks 50 and 80...it's probably based on a combo of Alex Smith starts and team record, meaning we're either getting a late 2nd or early-mid 3rd. Worse case would be if Alex gets hurt, Daniels goes off, the Chiefs win the west and we get a late 3rd...doubt that happens though.

I don't see it happening but if it's based purely on Alex Smith stats then there could be a slight chance we get a pick in the 33-50 range if the Chiefs D is horrid.

CBA Appeals Ruling: #Patriots can recover $2.5M bonus they paid Jonathan Fanene in '12. He made "inaccurate" medical disclosures in physical

BREAKING NFL UPDATE - Source reports Nnamdi Asomugha has signed a 1yr incentive laden deal with the San Francisco 49ers,

I'm taking this with a bit of a grain of salt considering no one else is on it yet but I will say it's better than PFC's typically X team has signed Y player.

I just remembered the Chiefs signed Dunta Robinson, too. With Flowers, that's a nice trio.

Next CB deal likely done is in New Orleans. Saints are close to deal with Steelers free-agent CB Keenan Lewis that could be done today.

Deal with Asomugha sounds like a good one, but I wouldn't mind actually shooting for a longterm fix at CB one of these days. Maybe we take one or two in the draft.

What about Aquib Talib or however you spell it. Has he signed and I missed it?

I've heard multiple people say the Pats have made him their top priority. He hasn't signed as of yet, at least not publicly.

Not that I know of.

He's a bit of a headcase so I think teams might shy away from him.
