Ian Rapoport:

Sounds like #Rams & OT Jake Long are hammering out a deal. Could have a resolution soon, barring any snags. They are OK with him medically

------------------------

Tony Softli:

League sources say Rams and CAA getting close on a deal for Jake Long.

-------------

Aaron Wilson:

Jerome Felton's Vikings deal is three years, $7.5 million, including $2.5 million in guaranteed money, $2 million in his bonus, per source

LaRon Landry's four-year Colts deal is $24 million: $7 million bonus, $11 million total guaranteed, another $3 million ffor injury only

Yeremiah Bell's Cardinals deal is a one-year, $905,000 contract, $610,000 of which is guaranteed, per source.

Yep- cheap 1 year deal and if he proves his worth, you look at a more lucrative extension next year. He gets to play for a SB contender near his old stomping grounds and is a part of arguably the best defense in the NFL. A good situation for both parties.

and he gets to play a lot more man-to-man coverage. it was absurd to watch him and DRC play zone coverage most of the time...what a waste of their strengths

Ben Volin:

Mike Wallace got some eye-popping numbers: $11m signing bonus, first two base salaries of $1m and $15m -- yes, $15m -- fully guaranteed

Jason La Canfora:

Broncos remain in Lombardi or bust mode. Pass rusher like Barwin/Freeney/Seymour on radar. Could still add depth to secondary too

Omar Kelly:

CB Nnamdi Asomugha is visiting the San Francisco 49ers and is expected to sign. Cornerback market starting to move. Woodson is still free

I wouldn't get so excited yet (if you even want him). Omar Kelly covers the Dolphins for the Orlando Sun-Sentinel and nobody else has said this same thing yet either from what I can tell.

I think the writer for rotoworld consistently slings mud at Omar too.

Mike Wallace's 2015 year salary ($9.85 million) also becomes fully gtd if he's on roster 5th league day of NEXT year. Ireland went all-in

I guess if Nnamdi fails at CB you have the option to move him to FS. Hopefully he comes in cheap.

Jason Cole said Sean Smith was looking for $8M per before free agency started. Jason now expects him to get a deal around $6M per with 3 teams interested.

I'm not sure how good he'd be at FS. He's not really that strong against the run, not a strong tackler, and I don't know how well he reads QBs considering how much he struggled in the Eagles zone system. He's far more effective playing press coverage and mirroring receivers. IMO if he can still play at a high level he's only got 2-3 years left max. I'd like to see a cheap 2 yr contract from the Niners.

I hope the reports about us being out of this are wrong because 6 million is a great number. I honestly don't know why we'd pass at that cost.

If we cut Rogers and signed Smith in the 5-6 range over 4-5 years we'd end up saving some money. I think Rogers is going to really fall off and prove to be a really bad signing in the next couple years. He looked a lot slower last year. I think with Smith, the sky is the limit, but I have no idea what his work ethic and personality is like. He's got to fit the Niners' locker room first and foremost - this is key for Baalke and might be why we are backing off
