Irvin is a liability in the run game and Avril doesn't exactly excel in that department either. I imagine they keep Red Bryant at one end and Avril starts at the other until Clemons is healthy. My guess is Bryant slides inside with Avril and Clemons at DE. They have a significant amount of money tied to the DE position, assuming Avril was well compensated.

Saw a tiny bit of the Alex Smith press conference today. Have to admit, it was WEIRD seeing him hold up a Chiefs jersey. Kind of like seeing an ex get together with someone else. I'm on the younger side, so he's the first QB I remember following closely from college to the 49ers.

...That got a little more emotional that I wanted it to.
