Safety Gerald Sensabaugh had a two-day visit with the Cardinals that ended today. No deal yet. He's got other visits lined up...

Even if the Niners sign Sean Smith, I would still want 'em to go after Revis (and cut Rogers). I don't like the thought of Sean Smith covering Percy Harvin.

That would make Brown a nickel CB, which seems like a waste; but it beats Harvin Torching Sean Smith twice a year (assuming the dude doesn't tear an achiles signing that enormous contract he's gonna get; those things can be hazardous to one's health).

Ew no way do I see Brown playing in the slot, he isn't near quick enough. Rogers is our slot CB, if we cut him as you say then we are pretty much stuck with Cox in that position.

This is a guy who would work well in our system IMO. Too bad we already have a talented / crowded backfield. We have about a .001 chance of signing him. All I'm saying is he would make an amazing one two punch with Gore if we already have Hunter.

New thoughts on Mendenhall
March, 12, 2013 8:09AM ET
By Tim Kavanagh | ESPN.com

Based upon what we saw during the 2012 campaign -- and especially what we've been hearing over the past several weeks -- it's unlikely that there is a place for Rashard Mendenhall on the Pittsburgh Steelers' roster for 2013 and beyond; from all accounts, that's something that doesn't entirely dismay Mendenhall, who is looking for a team that will install him as the true No. 1 back. So who could that be?

Earlier this week, we learned that the Denver Broncos could be interested, and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette passes along word that the Arizona Cardinals are another team to watch in the pursuit of Mendenhall. Arizona cut ties with Beanie Wells on Monday, and with rumors that they're also moving on from LaRod Stephens-Howling, they'll need to sign some other options to join the backfield stable with Ryan Williams.

Other teams could come out of the woodwork on this one, but it appears that Mendenhall could be headed West this offseason.

Chris Canty - DL - Free Agent

The Ravens are hosting free agent DT Chris Canty on Tuesday.
Canty would likely play end in Ravens DC Dean Pees' 3-4 base defense. He'd be a rotational player. Canty has made several visits since the Giants released him on February 6, meeting with the Packers, Jaguars, Titans, and Chiefs.

Phil Loadholt - T - Vikings

ESPN 1500 Twin Cities reports the Bears' interest in free agent RT Phil Loadholt is "legitimate" and they are offering more money than the Vikings.
Per Vikings beat writer Tom Pelissero, Minnesota doesn't intend to offer Loadholt more than $5 million a year. The $5 million figure would be solid for a right tackle, but by no means one of the bigger contracts in the league at that position. A day after dealing Percy Harvin, the Vikings appear to be at risk of losing another integral offensive piece. Loadholt is a 27-year-old mauler in the run game.

Reggie Bush - RB - Dolphins

Profootballtalk.com reports the Lions are the "likely winners" on free agent Reggie Bush.
Bush to Detroit has been perhaps the second worst-kept secret of free agency, behind only Mike Wallace to Miami. PFT's Mike Florio reports Bush would push Mikel Leshoure for the Lions' starting job, and the two would definitely work in tandem. If the Cardinals feel they've lost out on Bush, Bruce Arians' club could begin to put a full-court press on free agent Rashard Mendenhall.

Cliff Avril - DL - Lions

The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson is hearing there's a "good chance" the Colts will sign free agent Cliff Avril.
Wilson acknowledges "nothing concrete yet." Our prediction on the top free-agent pass rushers at this point would be Paul Kruger to the Browns, Avril to the Colts, and Dwight Freeney to the Broncos, with Michael Bennett, Osi Umenyiora, and John Abraham still up in the air. Elvis Dumervil could soon join this market.

Jake Long - T - Dolphins

A source tells the Chicago Sun-Times that the Bears' interest in free agent LT Jake Long is "real."
The Bears are serious about upgrading their offensive line. Although they'll have to watch their pennies and get creative with contracts, they're in the mix for Jermon Bushrod, Phil Loadholt and Long at a minimum. Jay Cutler should be a happy man by the time the first wave of signings are through.

Sione Pouha - DL - Free Agent

Jets released NT Sione Pouha.
The move sheds $4.9 million in salary and takes the Jets off the hook for Pouha's $100,000 workout bonus, as well. It clears $3.8 million in sorely needed cap room. Pouha was an effective run stopper as recently as 2011, but experienced chronic back issues in 2012 and got pushed around on the field. He's now 34. Pouha could make sense as a reclamation project in Baltimore, where the Ravens need nose tackle help and Dean Pees runs a defense similar to Rex Ryan's.

James Anderson - LB - Free Agent

Panthers will release LB James Anderson.
The cap-strapped Panthers are making some tough decisions. Although Anderson was due a relatively meager $2.9 million in 2013, he's entering his age-30 season and managed 38 tackles in 12 games last season. Jon Beason is expected to kick to the strong-side linebacker spot now that Luke Kuechly is entrenched in the middle. The five-year, $22 million contract the Panthers gave Anderson in 2011 was another disaster from former GM Marty Hurney.

Santana Moss - WR - Redskins

The Redskins have cleared $2 million in salary cap room by reworking Santana Moss' contract.
They're now believed to be roughly $3 million under the cap, giving the Skins some flexibility to sign a free-agent cornerback. Moss' restructure makes it likely he'll return to the slot-receiver role in Washington, though he may have to compete. Moss turns 34 in June. His salary previously was $4.15 million.

Jerraud Powers - DB - Colts

According to the Indy Star, the Colts view free agent Jerraud Powers as a No. 2 corner.
Powers wants to be paid like a No. 1 corner, so he's likely going to hit the open market later this afternoon. He's been steadily linked to San Diego, where Tom Telesco is now the general manager. Telesco was part of the Colts' front office when they drafted Powers.

Adam Schefter:

Four teams - SF, PHIL, DET, TB - in play on Dashon Goldson - but DET, TB considered favorites. TB also in on CBs Sean Smith, B. Grimes, DRC.

Pro Football Central:

Philadelphia, Detroit, & 49ers fighting over Goldson and Delmas . Landry/Buffalo may not happen due to third team here spending too much

--------

Vikings also jumped in late on Mike Wallace derby raising Miami's offer up.

One thing I've heard a lot about this new three-day window: Its purpose has been to help teams accurately gauge the market for players

Jason Hanson - K - Lions

Free agent K Jason Hanson has decided that he wants to play another season.

Hanson will turn 43 in June and has 21 seasons under his belt. But he was solid once again last year, making 18-of-22 field goals from 40-plus yards out and 32-of-36 overall. Hanson previously said he'd be willing to re-sign with the Lions for the veteran minimum of $940,000.

He'd be one of my top targets if I had a say in anything. He should've been a 49er from the get go.

BARNES A HOT COMMODITY — 10:15 a.m. ET

A linebacker with 18.5 sacks for the San Diego Chargers the past three seasons could be heading elsewhere.

A source told FOXSports.com that Antwan Barnes has received interest from six teams with the free-agent signing period set to open at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday.

A 2007 fourth-round pick by Baltimore, Barnes enjoyed his best season with San Diego in 2011, when he led the team with 11 sacks. Barnes suffered a hamstring injury last November that eventually landed him on injured reserve.

Barnes, 28, is one of the more attractive options available in a limited free-agent class of 3-4 outside linebackers with pass-rush skills.

Jason La Canfora:

Continue to hear a strong buzz about Chase Daniel. Teams think he'll get $3M-plus a year. Lot of clubs in a shallow QB market ...
