Not saying Francona didn't earn the award but how in hell did he beat out Farrell?

Why do you even complain about not winning the stupidest of the baseball awards... Manager of the year has nothing to do with the manager and solely which team was most surprising...

Why are you concerned about my questioning Farrell not winning? Besides wasn't Boston a preseason cellar pick? I admit Francona did a great job with the Indians. I just see Ferrell equally impressive and his team led the majors in wins. I'm not hating on Francona here, I'm questioning the baseball writer's.

Farrell, as I've said elsewhere more than once, was replacing a total incompetent. To phrase it slightly differently, being competent when your predecessor was not is no reason to win MOY.

Francona took over a genuinely bad team and got it on the right path. THAT rates MOY consideration.
