Apparently, it forced the Republicans to break their own rules and show how susceptible the system is to partisan hackery.

Which makes Biden's case for reform of the SC nomination process that much stronger. When he stands up the committee, all he has to do is appoint some moderate Republicans (Like Michael Steele, John Kasich and Jeff Flake) and get it done.
