I thought this was a bipartisan erffort. Only when the Reps get their way I guess.

The bill itself passed, this was an amendment to expand/extend benefits.

I know, just that it seemed to be an important amendment. Business as usual that there was not a single departure across either party line.

Also, scott free Scott not voting once the required votes needed was sneaky as usual.

saw a tweet yesterday:

Boeing had cash, which it blew
On buybacks, and bonuses too
When revenues slowed
It felt it was owed
A $60-bil bailout, from you
I'm generally not a big proponent of the Too Big To Fail mentality, Boeing is really one that I struggle with.

When you consider that there are essentially only two players in the industry and since the ability to expand manufacturing capacity in an industry as expensive and complicated as this is so limited, Airbus wouldn't be able to pick up the slack for a very long time.

That said, it would obviously be WAY more than just Boeing who suffers if they have too many issues. All of the airlines, UPS/FedEx/Amazon, even on down the chain to the hotel companies and other businesses that rely on tourists will be significantly impacted.

Seems like a rational guy.

Democratic primary: Bernie Sanders wrestles with his next steps - CNNPolitics

Want people to stop asking about your doomed campaign? Call off your doomed campaign.

I'm good with it. Next votes aren't for another 3 weeks, he was giving interviews about the pandemic, right now, pandemic response is the only thing that matters. Don't ask a stupid, pointless, irrelevant question during a crisis if you don't want to get snapped at.

Mitch McConnell is standing right now on the Senate floor and admonishing the rest of the Senate for blocking progress. Saying our country doesn't have time for silly political games.

With a straight face.

I hope he kissed Rand Paul full on the mouth recently.

Here is why the Democrats want to block the current bill, by the way.
Demands for Workers-First Stimulus Grow as Senate GOP Fails to Ram Through $500 Billion Corporate 'Slush Fund'

McConnell and his cronies are trying to give more socialis- ummm welfa- STIMULUS. That's the word. Stimulus to business. With no help whatsover to average Americans. And they are holding life saving supplies for health care workers in order to get it.

So he showed up to vote?

Could have sworn he self- quarantined

Yes, he showed up. Anyone who "self quarantines" can un-self quarantine any time they want.

Rand Paul is a prick of the utmost:

Paul spent six or seven days going about a fairly normal routine -- sitting in meetings with fellow senators, going to the gym(!) -- all the while knowing a) he might have been exposed to the virus and b) he was awaiting coronavirus test results.

Every expert recommendation would have been that Paul self-quarantine -- as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz did -- for 14 days given that he knew he had been potentially been exposed. That he not only didn't do that but also apparently didn't inform anyone that he was interacting with that he could well have the disease is an act of profound selfishness.
Paul released a statement on Monday, saying, "For those who want to criticize me for lack of quarantine, realize that if the rules on testing had been followed to a tee, I would never have been tested and would still be walking around the halls of the Capitol. ... It was my extra precaution, out of concern for my damaged lung, that led me to get tested. ... The broader the testing and the less finger-pointing we have, the better."

Does he realize he just criticized an overly-lax federal response to the pandemic with that statement? Does he realize he just made an sound argument against the position he's been firmly espousing?
