Binnington delivered last night and kudos to him, but my goodness the US has leapfrogged Canada as far as developing goalies is concerned.
2 Canadian starters have won a Cup since an American one did.

Also, Thompson may be better than anyone the Canadians brought and may be legit with staying power.

I think on paper the US goalies are very good but I also saw Hellebuyck get opened up like a can of beans last April.

There's a guy who plays for Prince George in the Dub (Joshua Ravensbergen) that appears to have a bright future. Heck, even this young guy with the Tigers (17 year old Jordan Switzer) looks promising early. Need to get that Quebec goalie factory churning again lol

Well the joke is on you, Canada. Here in America we are allowed to believe whatever we want.

We were getting ready to win this game. Frankly... we DID win this game.

Congratulations, U-S-A!!!

I'm now gearing up for the last quarter of the hockey season to watch my Caps win their 7th Cup in a row.

This USA roster reminded me of the 2006 Canadian roster. Leaving younger players like Crosby, Staal and Spezza off for the likes of Bertuzzi, Draper, Richards and Ryan Smyth (who I never understood why people thought he was good).

It was almost entirely predicated on “he answers the call for Canada at World Championships”.

But he was top ten in goals from 03-06 among Canadians leading up to the Olympics. Whether he was ever the strong two way player his reputation seemed to suggest I’m honestly not sure but I feel like talking yourself into Draper or Bertuzzi at that point was a bit crazier.

Staal being a rookie obviously was an issue considering it was an issue for Crosby. Both probably could’ve helped lol

Funny how using the term "rookie" as a bad thing for international tournaments, is something I always found to be hilarious. Because most of the time those younger players were in more international tournaments recently vs NHL veterans.

And also if they’re as good as Sid why wouldn’t you want them?

If the NHL didn’t do a dumb gimmick in 16 wouldn’t McDavid be on Canada? Think it would’ve been insane to galaxy brain that one.
